The Panthers have noticed Tolbert's decline.

He's not a weapon anymore and not a lead blocker

If he's on the field it's to pass protect and that is a massive tell.

You should have stopped there. Cuz, unfortunately, he is not just a pass protector, he still is used as a FB. The D may know he isn't very good anymore, but they still have to figure out if it is a run, or a pass. So we have that going for us.

the lack of a true FB is the biggest issue with this offense IMO. Bigger than tackle.

Hahaha I doubt that  most tackles have 100% offensive snaps and if you have shitty ones there are more chance of hampering your offense like , sacks, false starts holding etch which our tackles seems to commit every game

When our tackles don't make boneheaded plays, they really aren't that bad unless it's against a freak like Von Miller who is almost unstoppable.

If we had a true road-grading fullback that could open up holes and also pass protect, you would see a HUGE difference on offense.

How can you consider yourself a running team without a true blocking fullback? Even in today's NFL, that doesn't make sense.

Thank god..   IMO a coach should recognize this kind of thing in training camp.  We are too loyal to declining veterans especially if they are cheap. Dickson?? Seriously? What a waste of a spot and then he just sticks around for 3 years and we have no ambition to upgrade to a complete TE.

No wonder we don't have good special teams.  We have NO run blocking TE's or Fb's.  Most teams have 3.  Overall we are a soft team.  We only got that physical moniker last year because of a stout running game that wore down offenses and our front 7 which neither has done poo this year.

True FB would help or 2nd TE but the tackles also go beat Griffen, Vic Beseley Freaney and just about all the pass rushers we played.  Troy Fumagalli from Wisconsin could be a good draft pick, he is a well rounded  prospect that can play FB/HB/TE with ability to catch.

Based on his prior contributions, I'd guess they were waiting to see if it was a just a slump or he was truly in decline.

The drastic reduction in snaps counts suggest they've realized it's more than a slump.

Stew running behind a true blocking fullback would be a thing of beauty.

A 3 year slump??
