Hoping Gettleman trades for a corner? Well, he can't.

No trades, just ride it into the offseason and sign some decent FA help where needed and draft BPA.  He should've done that this past offseason but decided what he had would be good enough.  How much of that is on Ron is up for debate but I do suspect it's largely Ron's choice to stand Pat with what he had.  Or at least he was ok with it.

P.S.  We are going to need all the draft picks we can get this coming draft so no trading them away.

Just in case anyone is still hoping for the Panthers to trade for a decent corner, he can't.

Trading for a corner now would not only confirm the huge mess he got the Panthers into, but also would prove he was far too slow in correcting the mistake.

His only option now is to sit tight and pretend there is no problem with the talent in the secondary.

disagree- if he got a bargain he could spin the story as "it was too good of value to pass up"

problem is no team is going to give us a good deal because they know we need a cb

He's admitted his wrongs before.  If he can help the team by signing any player, he would.  And quite honestly, it's the fans that are mad our expectations haven't been met.  Getts and Ron could have fully expected these growing pains from the secondary, and thus are prepared to stand pat and let them develop.

Then they should both be fired immediately.

Why not trade for Gary Barndige , you give Cam another weapon, helps your run game in return you  keep the  young secondary off the field. Run game is the 2nd best defense just look at what Tampa did MNF

This all might have been a non-issue if Bradberry would have stayed healthy in the Atlanta game.  Sadly he didn't and now people are coming out with the pitchforks.

Bradberry gave up like 3 catches in the first 4 plays of the game to Julio before he went out with the injury. An injury that was sustained, by the way, due to being burnt by Julio and hitting his toe on the back of Julio's foot while chasing him.

Good leaders admit their mistakes and correct them.

I still maintain that the corners have been fine, safety is a far bigger issue. Hell, our run defense is a bigger issue.

exactly, safety is a huge issue and colemon wtf man.  may be defensive play calling not sure.  Jeremys gif is a great example.  why is he even there?  I dont think carolina should be using a safety blitz when the secondary cant afford it.

FWIW I don't really think we have as big of a "corner problem" as most people think...

Our passing D woes are stemming from teams exploiting holes in our zones and the weaknesses of specific personnel. We aren't making adjustments fast enough for it to matter, aren't getting enough pressure on the QB, and any halfway decent QB we've played or the O Coordinator behind him have made better adjustments on the fly.

It's on McDermott a tad, lack of penetration up front a tad, player weakness a tad, complacency a bit, and just plain ol' dumb luck a tad.

It also doesn't help that our offense does jack poo most of the time.
