Would you take Romo if Available?

Romo = Jake without leadership, but in a QB friendly system

Romo sat and developed for three full years before starting out, and he has always had a great line, good receivers, and an offensive coordinator who runs a very quarterback friendly system. To get an idea of what Garrett does from an NFC South perspective, look at what Payton did with Drew Brees. Brees came to New Orleans with a lifetime 84.9 rating, now he looks like the second comnig of Dan Marino.

The bottom line is that Romo is a product of a system that covers up huge flaws in leadership and decision making. The most significant thing he's ever done was start at QB for the Cowboys, and for that alone he was anointed as the second coming of Roger Staubach or Troy Aikman. He's not, and he probably never will be. As Jake and Kurt Warner have both shown at various times in their careers, when someone goes undrafted there's usually a pretty good reason. Romo's just showing his now.

As an aside, how would you like to have Garrett running the show in Carolina with Smitty, Stewart, and Williams to play with? :)

i would rather deal with jake for the remainder of the season and then look for someone in the off season. The problem we have is that we have no 1st round pick and need DT help as well still. I see us looking at other rosters for help. you never know who will get hurt this year causing an unproven backup to get playing time and look good (like Castle last year). i think we will probably make a move for someone like that.

Plus, they both have the ability to look all-world any given Sunday and throw 300+ with 3 TDs, etc. However, neither is consistent enough to win the 3 or 4 playoff games in a row to win a Superbowl. Neither ever, ever, will.
