Did anyone notice the playclock...

Didn't ever get below 5 seconds last night with Anderson out there?

We've had consistent issues with running out of play time, particularly early this season.  We're often snapping it with 1 or 2 seconds left on it.

I'm a huge Cam fan, but something like that is noticeable and not attributable to much else that I can think of...

We ran a lot of hurry up last night. When Cam runs hurry up the offense works like clockwork as well.

They didn't run hurry up all game tho... there was a distinct difference last night... they had plenty of time.  The team was lined up with 12-15 seconds left on the play clock consistently.

Look into the Chud years. If you find us running out the clock like we are now then maybe I'll agree.

Could be more basic plays?  I mean I'm sure it's not because Cam is talking slower.

Cam spends more time in the huddle getting these complicated plays. Cam has been visibly frustrated and yelling at them for not getting the plays in and wasting TO. Remember the Seattle game last year when he ended up having to waste a TO and was mad saying he's not getting the play in. DA didn't have to do that. Example in game planning for different QBs.

One thing to keep in mind is that Anderson may have less plays to choose from and/or less things to decipher before he snaps the ball due to the fact Cam (if it is an option) probably has to take a closer look at the defensive front.

I'm just spit balling though.

With Cam there's a lot more combinations of things you can run, with Derek it's pretty straight forward. Makes sense that the play call would be in quicker

aside from the 3 absolute boneheaded plays, DA actually had a good game. He was hitting receivers in stride, the timing was impeccable at times, and his pocket awareness was good for the most part.

we should be talking about a Panthers win. unfortunately we're not.

And we're not because of DA. You're basically saying outside of losing the game DA played well.

    • Panthers are clearly not worried about cap space so why are we?
    • Other than being the offseason and there isn't much to talk about, why does anyone worry about the cap? We can do whatever we want and still have cap space. You don't think the front office hasn't already figured it out and what they intend to do. Me I am just sitting back and watching. After all my job isn't on the line if we lose. Although at my age we don't have forever if I am going to live to see us play in another superbowl
    • I get the TD's and I pointed it out, but like I said, when Burrow had more than double the TD's than Geno had, I think Higgins increased TDs compared to DK was more a product of Burrow and the Bengals offense than because of him vs DK as WRs. When one of their QB's finished 4th in MVP voting despite missing the playoffs and the other was just traded for a late 3rd round pick and replaced by Sam Darnold, I think that's a tough narrative to brush aside to just look at raw stats as well. Again, swap DK and Higgins last year, do you honestly believe DK wouldn't have put up better stats than Higgins did? Contracts and trade compensation aside, I'm taking DK over Higgins 100 out of 100 times, there is no debate about it for me.
