Kris Jenkins...

You can never never never ever successfully run a team/business/town/church/chess club/whatever if you have someone constantly undermining you publically and privately.

Never. Ever.

Discussing Jenks' leaving is like discussing Ol Yeller's shooting.

not really. discussing what's gone wrong is how you figure out what to do next time. You have to see, ok what have we done, what are we doing now, what do we need to do next time. nothing wrong with discussing anything.

when they put him on the block for the 2007 draft i think that started a rift between the two sides that never repaired and just got wider and wider.

a little selfish on Jenkins' part, since this was the team that tolerated two years' worth of season ending injuries without replacement and watching him become an alcoholic overweight mess.

well the second round has been mixed. hit and miss. idk. im sure they are (did) try, but it hasn't worked. hopefully the scouts are working on that for next year. along with a QB of the future

More Like miss and more misses.

02: Foster over Portis: Foster wasn't too bad he came up big but Portis is a very good back (it could have been the Broncos staff who knows).

03: B Nelson: Bust

04: Colbert and Shelton: Need I say more

05: Marshall: Decent became a so far average starter.

06: Jarret: So far Bust.

We are terrible in the 2nd thanks FO for trading a pick your terrible at for a pick you are good at picking at and in a deeper year.

why did you have to bring that poo up? i mean damn Jenkins was the man, had heart and passion for the game...thinking about this does nothing but piss me off and plenty others..so i think its safe to say mission accomplished asshole

It makes it even worse by how badly we could use him right now.

Jenkins had passion for doughnuts. That was about all. He didn't like to lose, but who does? People far too often confuse outspokenness for leadership. The two are not interchangeable. The most important thing about being a leader is knowing where and when to speak and when it is warranted.

I know most folks have never seen the inside of a locker room while players are giving interviews, but they have everybody around them with a mic in their face and their teammates are all in hearing distance. That is no way to inspire your teammates, by putting them on blast in front of their faces with a bunch of news media there.

Had Jenkins been a real leader, he would have stepped away from the mic and the McDonalds and busted his ass on the field and kept his mouth shut in the media and let his play do his talking.

Again, I miss Kris Jenkins the talent.... I do not miss Kris Jenkins the mouthpiece and perpetual weight problem. Just because we didn't secure another DT to replace him does not make Kris Jenkins the player more intrinsically valuable to this team. He didn't want to be here anymore, and now he's gone. He got what he asked for.

And comparing the return on a trade by the players we took with the picks is a flawed method. The picks, themselves, are assets that do not correlate to the players selected with them. You can't just look at it and say we traded Jenkins for Godfrey and Barnidge. Those picks held value until we made the picks, and THEN they became players. The two transactions were not linked except in the sense that Carolina liked the assets that the draft picks represented and used them to select another asset they liked.

    • Okay, that day in Vegas had to embarrass him completely. Andy showed him how to do the job.  What I think when I go there, why did it take Andy? He has had game after game of watching actual NFL QBs work and that didn't do it?  Anyhow Andy did not mess around, he stood in there and did his job and got rid of the ball ahead of the pressure. Down the field. With the same players Bryce had. Night and day.  If that didn't wake him up nothing ever would. But I don't think he has any sort of top NFL QB in him, he just lacks the full tool kit.
    • Team is dangerous right now, all four lines are contributing and the speed at which the guys play at is tremendous.
    • And every nfl player wannabe tries to up their draft position through things like the combine and theyre all basically lying though those drills theyve practiced hundreds of times that have little bearing on if theyre a good football player. The pro days are even worse. All you have to do is dupe 1 team. Is it right? No. But until teams put more emphasis on college tape vs. What they did in shorts with no defense it'll happen every year. I doubt there is a single player that wouldn't try anything to up their draft prospects.  Young had years of tape and that shouldve been what the decision was based on. Not a scale and throwing in shorts.  ( btw I think the combine and pro days are 90% a waste of time) Young has it financially made already. It's up to him if he wants to be a good football player too. I think the benching was the best thing that could've happened to him. It remains to be seen if it was enough
