Kris Jenkins...

obviously, you dont understand the purpose of this thread, if you don't want to participate, or don't like it, why even bother commenting.

Line is weaker since Jenkins left.

His talent hasn't been replaced.

Also in news: Obama is president, Panthers are 0-2, and I am an asshole here to help you be stronger in the outside world.

Like the original poster said he hated Fox. He wanted out because he saw what was becoming of this defense. He knew it was a sinking ship with a coach that refuses to adapt. If it would have been me I would have done the same thing myself. We got rid of the wrong guy IMHO.

Whether he hated Fox or not, he clearly didn't fit in with the current team. I hate it because you just can't go out and find a DT of his caliber, in the draft or through free agency.

It's obvious we could use him now.

I am pointing out that this thread is stating the obvious.

Sadly I have to hear this same broken record at work as well.

Jenkins was a punk and a crybaby.

We HAD to trade him,and thus got a less than value on our end.

We did get to starters that the jury is still out on.

First, Kurb, you've made me lol.

I don't think we really know what went on with Jenkins...we just don't. We paste stories together etc. But, I happen to think he told the truth...just my opinion.

I just find it funny that the two stars on the once vaunted Panthers DL that hasn't been vaunted for awhile, one wanted out and got out...and one made it clear he wanted to be out too.

Makes you wonder...

What happened was...

Kris Jenkins is a big fuging cry baby who was noticed around Charlotte and didn't like this "hic" area. He was a locker room cancer and him and yasinkass sucked each other off in the media. He didn't like the Defense (his only quality) and thus he wanted out. And we got a ok trade for a player that was hurting his trade value with every breath.

i dont think its an issue of not fitting with the team, but that is irrelevant. this goes way beyond Kris Jenkins, which i wish would have come up, but people were too quick to criticize and mock me for bringing it up. It was obvious that in 2008 we needed a large and strong body in the middle. then there is the peppers situation. we all know the story. i just don't see some of the reasoning with the Front Office on this. We didnt even need Everette Brown.

can you translate that into English ?

all i got was

It was obvious that in 2008 we needed a large and strong body in the middle.

which I think is true, and would have been handled if it was possible to have done so.

Although I was severely disappointed that they didn't bring quality depth at the DT position, I was impressed at the very good job fighting the fire once it got started (with the cap the way it was, although its there fault it was so strapped in the first place). Leonard looked like a star before his injury and I have heard and seen extremely good things from Ra' Shon Harris. Louis' injury is really unfortunate as he was the one bright spot on D in the Falcons game.

It's hard to bitch about him leaving just because I think it was a good decision for him to go. He wasn't motivated to play here anymore and had issues staying in shape. The Jets clearly got out better in the deal but I seriously doubt that we could have gotten a lot more out of Kris, he just didn't fit well anymore for whatever reason.

I dont necessarily agree that Jenkins wasnt motivated to play here. I think the issue was more he wasn't a "company" man , due to his personality and style he ended up not being a Fox and Hurney guy; therefor it was the environement that made Jenkins wanting to move on. That all being said - maybe all the stuff Jenkins was saying was and still is TRUE!!!! I have moved on, but I did not like that move when they made it.

Im fine with moving a player if he has a problem with the team or the coach, even if he is good, but to not make a good effort to replace him is idiotic. They drafted him in the 2nd round. 2008 we drafted a DT in the 7th round. last year the 3rd. Not that you can't find good talent in those rounds, but why not pick where you've had previous success?

Because we've not had success in the 2nd round since then (other then Kalil).

    • If there's another QB that came to the combine after packing on 15 lbs of water weight to hide his playing weight, I don't remember it.  I understand it's all part of the pre-draft game, and he participated. The FO was stupid and ignored huge red flags.  On a side note though, I was at the airport a few weeks ago and saw a basketball team going through and decided to try and look through them. I'm 6'2 and these guys were 6'6 and up. I was amazed by how much I couldn't see around them. And these guys weren't 300 plus in pads. I still think he's having a hell of a time seeing the field at the NFL speed.
    • There is merit to the points you're making here. On the flip side one could argue it took us investing 150 million in the oline for him to have a breakout season. And he has still yet to hit 1k rushing yards in a season. As far as Brooks goes the position does not require that significant of a draft investment for many other teams. That's not being negative it's just a matter of fact. The 49ers did quite well with a UDFA running back while McCaffrey was out. It is understandable that some people have concerns. That being said it boils down to whether or not you believe in the player. We just have to see what happens with him and Brooks.
    • Okay, that day in Vegas had to embarrass him completely. Andy showed him how to do the job.  What I think when I go there, why did it take Andy? He has had game after game of watching actual NFL QBs work and that didn't do it?  Anyhow Andy did not mess around, he stood in there and did his job and got rid of the ball ahead of the pressure. Down the field. With the same players Bryce had. Night and day.  If that didn't wake him up nothing ever would. But I don't think he has any sort of top NFL QB in him, he just lacks the full tool kit.
