What happened to Funchess?

Yeah, neither site I looked at would likely credit him with a drop on that pass.

Dunno why Funch keeps getting dogged here. Barely any looks, can't grab them all but some have been great catches he had no business making.

Or he couldn't catch a super shitty pass?  No stats I've seen show a drop for Funchess.  Would be easier to judge if I had access to the play in question.

Why would I make up and detail a dropped pass?

Let me not bring up that weak sideline effort against the Broncos. Or his wannabe Randy Moss moment.

Funny thing about Funchess is that people have been blaming his QBs for lack of production since college.

seriously like others have asked, what made everyone think Funchess was going to be the GOAT this year? 

People blamed it on Cam not throwing to him,.. Well Derek didn't either. As far as him playing in limited snaps-- there's probably a reason for that,.. He doesn't beat anyone out to get on the field which is sad with limited competition.

I hope he gets better,... Otherwise a wasted pick but for now he's not very good.

I didn't say you made anything up.  I just don't fully trust people who are as salty as you are.  What salty minds think they see, and what actually happened are often not the same.

When you're the 4th read every play you're in the game, there's no way Cam or DA are going to get that far in their progressions to even look you're way if you're open. It's a product of the O-Line playing poorly on pass protection and our QBs seeming to be incapable.

I should be the last poster to do this, given my opinion on funchess. Others hit on it, he's 3/4 down the line on the chow line for a team that doesn't have much chow.

Still the draft talk of him being a "matchup" problem for defenses is a joke. They are also using mainly to block it seems, another joke cause even being a former TE he's bad at that too! 

Funny cause 98% of the huddle had raging preseason boner for him and I reserved my judgement til the real season....... More than hoping I'd be wrong and happily eat a full helping crow, he's what I thought he is.

Still the book isn't written, he still has time to become a "weapon"....

Well, i decided to watch some tape on Funchess. The truth is, he's not getting the targets he deserve. I'll split this in games so it won't be full of images in just one reply.

GAME 1 - BRONCOS

Image 1 - Funchess was open and Newton threw to KB

Image 2 - He was so wide open that he even raised his hand asking for the ball. Newton threw to KB.

 

Ps.: I'm not putting the plays that was completed passes because let's assume that was a better option or was the first read of Newton in the play.

I don't think funchess deserves blame for how DA decided that olsen was the only one worth throwing the ball to the whole game.. I mean there were plays where fozzy and funchess were wide the fug open and DA still threw it to olsen.
