Wanted: Blocking Fullback

Here is the thing. We have all known Tolbert is awful for quite a while now, yet the coaching staff insists on him being key in these plays.

WHY>?

Either the coaches are blind, stupid, or trying to tank. I'm just baffled at how we seem to be trying to slam rectangular pieces in a circular hole over and over.

I hate to say it but we probably need to tank this year to grab some elite pieces, a Jabril Peppers, Myles Garrett, Leonard Fornette or Cam Robinson sound great after the abortion I saw on the field last night.

There was 10 defenders on the los, no way that play was going to work. Yet, for some reason DA still ran it.

Actually if Tolbert attacked and blew up his guy there was wide open space to the left.  Tolbert just basically let the defender come to him and whiffed

A good fullback can have a long career in the NFL. But once the tread wears off of the tires, the drop off is fast obvious. This might have been one too many seasons for Tolbert.

Tolbert is a RB.  Said it for years now....you dump RBs at 30. We keep using them over 30

We've had other options over the past 2 seasons that was younger, hungrier, and would have cost less. It's inexcusable bringing him back after the SB

Ron is too loyal to tolbert.. to the point where it damages the team.. ron has to wake the hell up.

They can mark him as a running back, but he's a fullback in style and build. But back to the discussion, we let Hoover go when he was still more effective than Tolbert has been. Tolbert may still have it, but just doesn't have his head in the game, but if that's the case, it's time to get back to being the battering ram we need rather than the ballerina he's become.

We need him to drop into a three point stance, not fifth position.
