Everybody wants to fire Shula like there are tons of grade A coordinators out there just jumping at the chance to come here.

Shula should have been fired tonight and should be training his replacement for the next few games.  Real talk.  It might just not come to fruition until about week 8 or 9.

And OC's get fired all the time. Two already been fired so far. It surely sparked up the Bills, we shall see what happens to the Ravens. Speaking of the Ravens, they fired Cam Cameron almost towards the end of the season and went on to the win the SB. I hate to ask, but why carolina fans ask irrelevant questions. If the offense isn't doing what it's supposed to do, make the change. That's the HC job to figure out. It's not like the coaches do poo here anyway, from what I'm told its strictly player execution that wins or loses for us. So what is Shula good for?

He's good for blaming it on the players.  Shula fuging sucks.  Bottomline.  If folks here don't think he's gonna get fired, then they may be right, but they are just admitting that the whole staff is gone after the season then.

this team loses absolutely nothing by firing mike shula.

if you're going to let him go i think you do it now, before the bye week, which gives you time to get the new guy comfortable and gear up for a run. if we wait for the bye it's already too late.

Mind you, if Rivera were fired, it'd set up an interesting dynamic.

The Panthers have always hired defensive coaches, but most of Gettleman's career successes came with teams that had offensive coaches.

Worth noting too that Gettleman goes way back with the Shanahan family.

So would Richardson insist on a defensive coach or accept trying something new?

Mind you, I don't think this happens. Just spitballing.

Not saying I'm a psychic or anything but I'd be beyond shocked, blown away, floored etc... if Shula gets the ax.

And I'm just giving my opinion as well.   I just hope Ron knows the seat is squarely getting hot enough that he's gonna have to make the tough decisions or he's gonna find himself demoted beyond belief.  I'd have to go look at all the one loss regular season teams in the past, but I find it hard to believe that any of them ever went sub .500 the following year.   This team will have to do a 180 to get to that.  I think that's gonna take some heads to roll.  This team is not playing like they are inspired by the current regime.

Why would Richardson insist on anything...he is paying the GM to make football decisions...I say fug what Richardson insists on his way is a losing way...

I know he prefers defensive coaches, but I also know he's deferred to Gettleman before (Steve Smith's release for example).

I think he'd defer here too.

And Kyle Shanahan may be a hot coaching prospect by year's end, so...

Hey I'm with you.  I want his sorry ass run out on a rail.  If coach hitches his wagon to the Shula train, toot toot, next stop unemployment line.
