Derek Anderson already on the field warming up. He's here a lot earlier than you would see Panthers starting quarterback Cam Newton, who is out with a concussion for tonight's game against Tampa Bay. But Anderson said he wouldn't change his routine and loosening up with tight end Greg Olsen early is part of it.

    • He doesn’t have the physical tools. He's certainly not fast enough to be a Fields or Lamar or Cam or Daniels where his running is a legit weapon. He’s also saddled with an anemic arm. Baker and Sam had physical tools and in Baker’s case, had success for a year elsewhere. Darnold also had a period of success here as well. Bryce doesn’t have that fall back talent that someone else can improve with coaching.
    • I feel like they struggled to win a playoff game… They also weren’t picking 1 when they passed on these QBs. If so they would have passed on Cam Newton in that Gabbert draft. If we some how don’t end up with the top pick then that changes everything IMO.
    • I appreciate your in depth look at it but I think there is a lot of stuff you bring up that he brings on himself.  He drops too deep to try to see over the line which creates a lot more pressure on the line.  He also has no feel for the pocket and pretty regularly bails on a clean pocket or shifts in a direction that puts more pressure on the line.  #1 though no matter how many excuses we want to make for him,  he has to stand on his tiptoes to see over nfl lines which makes his throws entirely have to come from his arm and when you factor that's the only place his throwing power can come from with that issue,  he's never going to have an arm that's nfl capable.  It's as simple as that.
