Bobby Cox sets the date

I love Bobby but I have to admit that it's probably time. I wonder if they'll stay within the organization in 2011 or go outside.

yes. hes said he would play some sort of role in the organization for the next five years.

as a braves fan im not sure how to feel about this. hes one of the greatest ever, but i think its time.

I dunno, he said he would feel weird managing at 70 (after next year). Too bad though, they got a great nucleus shaping up for another good run.

what are you talking about. Next year their lineup will be

C - McCann

1 - ?

2 - Prado/Infante/Johnson

3 - Chipper the dipper

SS - Escobar

LF - ?

RF - Jason Heyward

CF - Nate McClouth/Roids Schafer

Laroche is walking, so they'll probably either sign some asshole or stick brandon jones there before he's too early.

Soriano is gone and Hudson will probably have to be traded because of his contract if they want to resign Matt Diaz, which they pretty much have to.

they'll basically have three starters worth a damn, no middle relief after bobby pitches peter moylan's arm off, no closer, no power whatsoever, a black hole at third, and his horrible managing.

A shame his pitching staff so often krapped their pants in the bright lights of the playoffs.

uh really it had more to do with bobby's horrible bullpen management, lineup management, the team's inability to sign any significant bats, and jim leyritz doing roids

bobby cox should have been fired after sending in Leibrandt to face Puckett in the '91 series after Kirby had been slaughtering everything left-handed all season.

that fat bastard was batting .406 with a ludicrous 1.045 ops against lhp

I meant will the team stay in the organization to find a new manager or go look elsewhere.

well ned yost is available. he was the heir apparent for years before going to milwaukee

snitker or hubbard could do it. there's always been rumors that franco is going to come manage one day.

Tom Glavine: 14-16 lifetime playoff record.

Greg Maddux: 11-14 lifetime playoff record

Steve Avery: 5-3 lifetime playoff record

John Smoltz: 15-4 lifetime playoff record

FFS look at 1991 through 2004.

13 post season chokes.

1 World Series trophy.

John Smoltz could not overcome his teammates weaknesses.

In fact if you're a Brave fan, you may as well be an Atlanta Falcon fan.

    • They got people like that but I mean, go back to the 1970s and you had the outlaw movement which was the same thing basically, a reaction against what at the time they called Countrypolitan - with strings and sweeteners and very narrow artistic type of value system.  The style of countrypolitan changes but the game remains.
    • The SEC were not having GT upset Georgia at home. Horrendously corrupt officiating in this game - the non-PI on 4th down and the non-targeting call on the King fumble. Good lord.
    • I like how they were about to punt the ball right before the two minute warning before being like... oh fug, this'll be too obvious we gotta try a FG then ole boy skulls one that never got more than about 12 feet off the ground. LOL!
