We traded a fourth for their punter before the season which means Dave thought fixing the weak link on special teams was going to put us over the hump. The season has now back fired in his face. So as much as I'd love for him to make a move or two I don't think it is going to happen.

Gettleman isn't the architect of what's happened here. So many of the players just aren't playing up to the potentials they showed last year. That whole Superb Owl hangover that Olsen and Rivera both warned about at the beginning of training camp seems to be coming true.

Considering how many starters we were able to retain from last year, all we should have needed was a punter and we'd be good to go. Josh was going to be hard to replace, but new blood comes in to defensive backfields all the time, it's a young man's game for most teams.

But these guys are playing slow as a unit. Moving slow, thinking slow. That's not Gettleman. That's too many mornings sleeping off the Hennessy instead of hitting the gym. Last summer, the stories were all over the place about how in the off season Cam was up at Ricky Proehl's facility working out with the receivers. This year's off season Cam story? Trashed party pad rental on the West Coast, a karate kid headband and a chin whisker that looks like he's sprouting a tiny little Odell Beckham Jr. out of his chin.

While all that is true, it is the GM's job to manage the roster and add talent. We lost Norman and our secondary has been abysmal. We traded for a punter when we really needed one. He traded for a DE last season when we really needed one. If there was a DE available I would hope that Dave is doing his due diligence. The tackle position has been a weakness since Gross and CB is obviously a glaring need. Not often do teams have fire sales. Thomas and Hayden make way too much sense.

It may just be me but I would offer a 1st and 3rd for Thomas and Hayden. Worst that can happen is the Browns say no. Guys like Davis and Olsen are not getting any younger and I'd like to see this team get another shot at a Superbowl before they are gone.

Edit: Look at the Vikings for example. Everyone bashed the Bradford trade and now they are 5-0. Don't think they would be there with Shaun Hill.
