I don't mean to be overly harsh, but you sound like a fuging moron on this topic.  As someone pointed out earlier, Bene played damn near every snap of the game.  While Julio was catching a breather, Bene was still out there chasing someone else around the field.

But yeah, I'm sure your son has more heart and desire playing little league soccer than a guy who started in the NFL as a 5th round rookie and who is trying to come back from snapping his damn leg in half on the field less than a year ago.

Jesus Christ, man.

Saying you don't want to sound harsh and calling them a moron is like me saying I don't want to sound mean but you sound like an asshole.

First off if he had defensed Jones fine in the first quarter and then gave up yards only later you might have a point. Not a great one but at least a point. But he gave up yards and looked slow and lost from the get go. Being tired is an excuse for poor effort and poor execution.

And yeah it is.pretty sad when a 17 who plays for the sport and competition takes his sport more seriously than a guy 5 years older  who gets paid to do it for a living..  And if you think all professional sports players work hard and give maximum effort then I have a beach house on a south Carolina island I will rent you for the weekend..

Yea that's one thing these people are for sure crazy on...players come from little league, JV, HS, to College, to the NFL you don't just magically teleport to the NFL and all the sudden NOW this moment that you sign the NFL contract means you have what it takes and didn't before hand.

It is comparable and these guys from SC I've been to camps with locally (AJ Green and Carlos Dunlap who went to my school  for example) talk about how some of his neighborhood friends are better than some of the NFL guys and Chad Johnson also talked about stuff like this. Simply being in the NFL does not make your conditioning better than other people no matter the age. Certain circumstances prevent people from attaining all sorts of jobs it's a hell of a lot more than skill that gets you in the NFL and size is near the top of the list a long with luck.

If you stop the nonsense hero worship or if you actually played football/basketball with people in the pros you'll notice that yea the skill is there but usually it's the size more than anything that makes the difference.  Also here they start the light round of roids pretty early...

But yea I think Zod said they were out of shape and we've seen this poo before with teh DL....I blame the coaches if they can't even tell how much in shape their own players are how can they really set up a game plan or anything else that takes a modicum of intellect...holy poo this doesn't look good for Rivera more so than Bene IMO.

I agree with what you said about desire and heart having to be there all along. Especially if you aren't the tallest or biggest and have to make up for it with relentless effort .

But I blame the player if he is out of shape and gassed when he is paid a ton to do it. Coaches can tell you what to do but can't do it for you. I am sure that Rivera and McDetmott have been on Benes butt if he weren't in shape. Most times he wouldn't even play let alone start.

I bet it is more than about conditioning or you would keep him and make him inactive if you had any hope that he could start for you later in the year. Or he could have mysteriously retweaked his leg and went on IR. He was released because he couldn't do the job and got exposed against the first big time receiver we have really seen this year. He was abused all day not just when he got gassed after running so much. Getting burned in the first quarter badly on the first deep ball thrown was surely not being tired.

If he were in against San Fran and they run the hurry up, why wasn't he gassed then? He had 2 more weeks to get back in shape before Atlanta. If he were gassed it was that I give up tired you get when you get abused all day and know your job is in jeopardy.

Not to jump to conclusions but it is odd that Jordan Gross used to be a regular on WFNZ and was reportedly "pushed out", Steve Smith used to co-host on WFNZ and was cut, Norman gave interviews all the time and is gone, now Bene. Like I said, not to jump to conclusions but that is a bit of a pattern.

Hopefully Tolbert starts getting into WFNZ then

I believe Bene was finger pointing at the lack of communication from the rookies and would not take complete blame. I think some players are getting frustrated with the rooks and the decisions to dump Norman when they all wanted another run at the SB.

Bradberry and Worley were tasked to take Julio Jones and failed early in the game. Bene was tasked to play the slot, and was forced to jump in outside when the rookies fell on their faces. Then when Bene gets beat he is expected to take all the blame.

Bene actually had some plays against Jones. That is more than I can say for Bradberry or Worley. No worries. Bradberry and Worley do not have Bene to cover their poo anymore.

Still a douche move to cut him:

  1. He had a significant injury he was returning from and isn't too far removed from being "limited" in practice.
  2. Matt Ryan was throwing it deep like it was a Madden online game. Over and over. Bombs over Baghdad.

I can understand him being gassed. I mean perhaps some safety coverage over the top might have helped him...jeez.

If that's the case I can't say I blame him. I wouldn't take all of the heat either. If it's true about Ron and co coddling rookies, then I can honestly see it going down like this.

All in all, Gettleman has no magic this year. This is one big failing science experiment.
