Anyone else's interest for NFL football dwindling?

If the game gets homogenized like the NBA you may lose tons more.

I can only watch the NBA during playoffs. Baseball the same. I love college hoops more than pros because of the variety of styles and strategies.  Some run zone or man to man or full court press etc.

Pro football is not as good as i have seen and i don't know if it's the unintended consequences of the CBA and lack of pads time and preseason length and injuries add up.

Honestly fantasy football is propping up the league. At least fan interest wise.

Yea....getting tired of it honestly.  I love football, so it would be nearly impossible for me to just up and stop watching it but slowly I have grown less interested over the last 4-5 years.  Last year got me invested again big time because it seemed "fun" again.  This year blows so far, not because we are 1-3 but because of how the league is at this moment ( not letting celebrations, stupid taunting crap all while letting players like Newton get killed by dirty SOB's like the Bronco's defense ).  Also, I have probably lost a few years of my life over stress and anxiety over winning / losing games...probably bad for my health to watch the Panthers every week.  Will I stop watching anytime soon? ( the panthers at least ), probably not but I think eventually I will throw in the towel with football altogether.

3 hours ago, The NFL Shield At Midfield said:

it's been a farce so far this year.  how overboard the league has gone with the celebration/taunting penalties in conjunction with the headhunting of cam going unflagged is nauseating.

This. Shocking how strict they have been on "unsportsmanlike" penalties while being so lax with helmet to helmet and late hits. I think the quality of refs has gone down considerably since last year as well.

I used to be so invested watching NFL content even if it was a looping news real. Now I really can't get into it any more, for many of the reasons the OP described as well as a few others:

1. I really believe the refs are purposefully being lenient when it comes to players hitting Cam because they are afraid he will just burn every defense.

1a. The fact that he takes more hits and draws among the least roughing penalties and ends up getting hurt, and the NFL has the gall to make investigations into how the Panthers are handling him when they don't protect him on the field to begin with is absolute bullshit.

2. I feel like the NFL has its flagship brands and those are the ones that are always going to get preferential treatment one way or the other. Watching sports is one of the least satisfying things to begin with when you're invested in seeing your team be the best out of 32.

3. I'd much rather spend my time doing things that are more satisfying that I actually have some influence on atp in my life.

4. That fuging cocksucking Broncos linebacker that singlehandedly destroyed the entire 2015 Panthers season, I can't even say his name. Every time he pops up in an old spice commercial I want to karate kick the television.

5. The team fuging stinks this season. Not to mention every fuging development is bad news. Like today for example. Bene being cut just sucks. He had a great performance in 2014, I thought he was going to stabilize at least one corner spot. Obviously we could use the help there. But nope. Complete snafu. So do I get mad or do I not give a poo? I dunno, I got a lot of other interesting stuff going on in my life, so....

The hypocrisy has gotten to me. Preaching player safety but not acting on it, bad teams in primetime games, Thursday night game shouldn't be a thing,  paid patriotism, ever changing rules. I'll always watch my Panthers, but last year was the least amount I've watch other games and this season is just as worse. The Superbowl crushed my spirits to a degree, that may be playing a subliminal effect as well
