I don't know about you, but if I spend a good chunk of my hard-earned money on a nice pda phone, I want to keep it looking nice for as long as possible, and not like I dry hump a gravel driveway every night with my phone in my pocket.

My husband attaches his cell phone to his belt. Some times he has his cell phone, mp3 player and digital camera all attached to his belt.

Also if you have a phone worth half a sh*t, you'll clip it to your belt and not keep it in your pocket like an oaf.

IMHO, clipping the phone to my belt where it is exposed to the elementz would allow it to get more damaged and scratched up than if it was contained in my oh-so-soft and delicate pocket which provides ample cushion.

Well when I say clip I mean like a case that clips on to your belt that you keep your phone in, so that's not an issue for me. Plus I have so much other poo in my pockets, so it's not exactly soft and delicate inside of them

the scratches come when you have it in your pocket with change, keys, etc.

i usually avoid doing such a thing. i'll put something in my back pocket if I have to including the phone. it locks so I don't butt dial.
