Thursday he had signed a bill allowing the construction of a 75,000-seat stadium that developers hope will lure an NFL team back to the Los Angeles area.

there are the team that could go there

Majestic has targeted seven teams as candidates to move to the Los Angeles area: the Buffalo Bills, Jacksonville Jaguars, Minnesota Vikings, St. Louis Rams, San Diego Chargers, Oakland Raiders and San Francisco 49ers.

The only teams I can picture moving out there would be the LA Jaguars or LA Rams! The vikings moving to LA hhhmmmm, the LA Vikings....Yeah right !

Come to think of it,screw LA,they have 2 baseball teams,2 basketball teams,a hockey team and anyway people in LA are too busy fighting in traffic, drive by gang shooting, being obsessed w/celebrities,surfing,doing coke and meth, signing up to be pornstars, going to the mall,.....etc etc.....!;)

That's 2 hockey teams. Kings, Ducks.

I could have sworn that a new stadium was approved for the Vikings. Guess they are still working on it.

Didn't realize the Vikings lease is up in 2011......

The Vikings, who's lease runs out on the Metrodome in 2011, want a new stadium.

California lawmakers could be paving the way with a new crown jewel of the NFL, a new privately funded stadium outside of Los Angeles.

The next step finding a team to move in. The Vikings are one of 7 teams the developer is hoping to lure in.

The Vikings have already proposed at a new $800,000,000 stadium on the site of the Metrodome. However, having taxpayers foot the bill is low on the priority list at the State Capitol.

"When schools are laying off teachers we can't fund the roads, we got all these other problems, massive budget deficit, the last thing in most peoples mind is we ought to invest money in a very profitable business," said DFL Sen. John Marty.

The Vikings have said they're not interested in renewing it's lease with the Metrodome. In a statement they said, "we are focused on solving our issue in Minnesota. Trying to generate discussions at the capitol have been difficult."

Why does anyone think LA is such an attractive location for a team? They've had TWO storied franchises in their history (the Rams and Raiders) and couldn't keep either one of them! At some point, teams are going to have to arrive at the conclusion that they are stuck where they are, and make the most of it. No NFL team has folded in my lifetime, but that may be the way a team goes as the number of potential locations for them to move to decreases! Think about it, how many towns are left that can truly support an NFL team? Portland, OR? They have the NBA there, after all! Oklahoma City? San Antonio? Well, SA was rumored to be a site for the Vikings a few years back! Lincoln, Nebraska?

Of course, Honolulu may be one of the few attractive options left. But what's left? Foreign countries?
