Coaching Questions

So I have been casually been listening to sports talk all over today and the common theme seems to be the arrogance of this coaching staff and the unwillingness to make adjustments. Normally the media is pretty uninformed when it comes to things like this but it is blatantly obvious now that we are a quarter way through the season. What the hell is going on with this coaching staff. Is it the coordinators just doing what ever they want and Ron not stepping in and overruling them or vice versa. How in the hell do you go all game without double or triple covering Julio Jones. Rivera is a defensive guy and let it happen all fuging game.

Mike Shula literally called 2 draws and a poo pass play when the team was/should have been in comeback mode. It may have been the worst series I have ever seen him call. It literally took Cam getting knocked out of the game for him to change anything with the offense. Even when Anderson came in there seemed to be no sense of urgency on offense. Did the coaches say aww fug it, Cam is out there is no chance we can win?

WTF is going on. I know there are injuries and personnel issues but it shouldn't be affecting coaching decisions like this.

Rivera contends that the offense is learning to play together and the secondary is young. That should sum it up.

Seriously, it's a domino effect. Coaching sucks, Cam is off and hurt and probably has been hurt since week one, our o-line isn't good, Shula doesn't believe in adjusting or sticking to what works, Ron falls asleep and probably should be in concussion protocol right now, McDermott doesn't really anything to say other than WOW, Trai says to stay svcka free, the team looks like they don't agree with management and coaches. It's a clusterf-ck right now.

Almost forgot how much i hate the coaches arrogance when things go wrong . any other team would make changes but our team no were way to hard headed . In 2014 we had the players for a great team but started scrubs and didn't make changes until it was almost too late .  WE LEGIT SUCK  and its so painful as a fan knowing the coaches and front office arent doing anything to help our cause . we cant stop the pass and cant rush the passer its only going to be worse when we play better qbs

    • Too late to edit above but the quote is from this Diane Russini article in the Athletic: https://www.nytimes.com/athletic/5941684/2024/11/23/russinis-what-im-hearing-the-day-the-jets-fell-apart-and-the-broncos-rallied-belichick-best-fits/ Okay.. there you have sorry I left that out the first post.  Also waivers keep the contract intact. That is the major difference in released and waived. It's all in that link from the other post.
    • Okay so I am reading something in The Athletic and it says that Jones had to pass through waivers. So I don't know. I looked this stuff up when we were number one there all offseason and I thought it said 4 years in the league got you vested, as they call it.  Vested gets you out of waivers as I understood it. I probably got something wrong, but when I think about the slack quality of journalism these days I wonder about that. So I went and looked, again. Well, well.  For everyone: "When a player has accrued at least four seasons in the NFL, they are considered a vested veteran. When these vested veterans get cut, they are released and their contract is terminated. When a vested veteran is released, they are an unrestricted free agent that can sign with any NFL team, and the team that released them doesn’t need to provide any additional compensation." It runs it all down here, where the quotes came from: https://www.profootballnetwork.com/waived-vs-released-nfl/ As far as Jones, the team turned down his 5th year option so I knew that meant he had 4 years in, because they re-signed him anyway, after turning down the much cheaper extra year.  The Athletic is owned by the New York Times so I shouldn't be surprised. That paper was an institution once upon a time but they let their standards go.
    • Well, we got our answer on Army today.
