The only thing that's going to stop the refs from cheating teams out of the game is to call them out in the media. Coaches and players alike should feel no shame at all to call out a ref who clearly was wrong or simply to prideful to admit a mistake. These guys work too hard to be screwed out of a win because of an arrogant official.

The next cba needs to address this big time, there is no excuse for Refs to keep getting away with their bullshit.

“Basically the ball hit the ground and bounced right back to Duke, and when the Washington player tried to scoop it, he got air, but then he just — I don’t know if because I was on top of him he was laying there acting like he had the football, or because he was laying there acting like he had the football Josh Norman jumped on him and the ref saw the posture of two Redskins cradling nothing on the ground and me trying to go after that nothing that she just assumed that the Redskins must have the ball – even though Duke had the ball in his hands,” Thomas said.

“I think if she would’ve just looked over and saw Duke with the ball, it would’ve been a different story, but at that point, when you’re an official, you’ve just got to go with whatever you’re going with and just lie ’til you die at that point.”

The league has admitted that the image of Johnson holding the ball in the air while Thomas indicates that Washington recovered the fumble is a “bad visual.” It’s more than a “bad visual”; it’s a serious blunder that is being handled with an explanation no one in Cleveland, or anywhere else, is buying.

The thing is, when you hire a token like Sarah Thomas (the female official), that then puts a burden upon you to protect that token at all cost.

Because not doing so MIGHT have to edge you toward the position that you might have made a mistake.  And considering the current NFL "Its OK to turn Cam Newton's brain into jelly" policy, we all know they're not going to do that.

The NFL is the easiest sport to manipulate with penalties.    They always say someone is always holding on every play so all the refs have to do is throw the flag on any big play.

It is hard not to believe there is a conspiracy going on.   How does a guy outside of the pile  have the ball in his hands and the refs are frantically looking for the ball.  Yet give it to other team.  Embarrassing.

Josh and the Bow and Arrow wasn't aimed at anyone.  Or Trai Turners jumping up and down was taunting hahahahaha.

What I find odd is day in and day out these players are reminded to kick ass and take no names.  The game is filled with trash talking and brash attitudes. Yet you aren't supposed to react when you beat the other guy.   Inciting a fight, no, flipping a ball at him as a gesture of "I Win" why not.  The refs need to get over their controlling egos.

My only gripe is that the league isn't consistent. You don't know what's considered "taunting" now. We can't, to save our lives, figure what's an illegal hit and what's legal so we're told it's about posture. We don't know what's excessive celebrating and what's not. Just be consistent with what you call.
