Cam and Anderson

Let me get this out before all you over reactors start hitting the reply button before reading.    I am no way saying Anderson is a better QB or we should replace Cam with Anderson.  However, Anderson almost brought us back into this game.

Anderson was more decisive in his throws. They were quick and on target (minus the INT).  He gave us a chance to get back in the game.   Cam needs to look at the film Anderson put up and learn from them.  Stop looking for the home run.  I think last year spoiled Cam.  He had big play after big play.  All season long.  Things change, defenses have adjusted. 

I want to blame Shula but Anderson move the team fairly easily down the field.  So maybe the game plan wasn't the problem. 

Cam is one of my favorite players of all time.  I think he is a special player and will lead us to the promiseland.  Learning from veteran like Anderson doesn't take away from his status as a great player.  He is lucky to have Anderson hopefully he'll see how Anderson ran the team and learn.

ATL didn't care after Cam got out. Cams attitude is poo, no matter what, the players on offense are a reflection of the QB

Anyone with half a brain can see the game plan wasn't the problem. Cam not being able to play a short game and actually see open receivers inside the 10 yard line has been the problem. It's been magnified this year, in part because of how many times he's been hit. Unfortunately everyone's watching the tv copy and don't actually see the underneath routes that are available which DA managed to exploit.

This goes back to my point.  Cam had great success last year with the big play.   It will be interesting to see how long Cam is in the protocol.   If he is out next week.  Hopefully, he'll be able to sit back and learn.

Had absolutely nothing with atlanta going into prevent defense. Got it.

Play-calling is your problem. I did not catch the entire game, but we were on bye, so I caught some. The game plan was altered to fit Anderson's lack of arm strength, which was a mix of short passes and a few deep ones. This is actually the recipe for success, but coaches rarely realize this. They play it safe with the backup, which is why backups or guys like Cousins, Smith, among others rack up nice QB stats, with high accuracy.

Cam does not have a high percentage of completion because he constantly throws home run balls. This also makes him hold on to the ball until plays develops. With Derek, he has no true arm strength so they get it out quickly. Cam AND the coaching staff should watch Anderson tape, together.

The one issue Cam does have is his bullet passes. Cam throws with all his might and you can see this in the throwing motion. That ball is literally out of there like a bullet, bet those are hard to catch, eh? Which in turn makes him somewhat erratic with his accuracy. Cam needs to ease up and put some touch on it like he does with the deep ones. Those bullets are no good, unless the window is small. Why bullet pass an open receiver? Then he has to come back or slow down to catch the damn ball.

Just my 2 cents, no teasing. We are on bye, boring over there. Your situation is more interesting at the moment.

I really like DA but the only reason he was moving the ball was cause Atlanta was playing prevent. And he still threw 2 int's

Do you have actual evidence to support this statement about prevent defense or are you just saying it because it sounds good?

I have to agree with ThatSeattleBoy. Anderson's game is different from Cam's. Cam is one of the best deep ball QBs in the NFL. We've seen him throw some great passes even this year. Anderson is much more a regular QB. Maximize their strengths.

The problem was as much Cam and the team being completely out coached, out played and out manned by a team we love to insult. I mean, they were almost in shock with how badly the game was going.

Time for leaders to lead, and right the ship. You can have the greatest game plan ever, and still get your butt whipped. As much as we like to think it's a coaching thing (hence all the fire Shula/Rivera nonsense), if the guys play like poo, it doesn't matter.

You don't know what a prevent defense looks like and you're a Panthers fan? Atlanta was giving cushion to keep everything in front of them.

The receivers were wide open and almost all of DA passes were under 10 yards

in 4 series. 172 yards passing with 2 TD and 2 very suspect interceptions. 

Anderson 17-23 172 yards 2TDs 2INTS in 4 drives.

Newton 14-25 165 yards 1TD 0INTs through 3 1/2 quarters

take away those very suspect INTs and we have some mad ass Cam apologists. Derek showed how to run this offense correctly.

You know why? Cause they were playing fuking prevent.
