Cam Newton is playing the worst ball of his career this year. He's been garbage.

Bash OP all you like. But there is something to it. I hate to say it, but Cam isn't playing well out of the gate this season since after game one. Something is off.

He didn't play well out of the gate last year. In fact he's never played well oUT of the gate. Weird.

Last year we started 4-0, but Cam didn't play particularly well against Jags, Texans, or Bucs. He did well against the Saints, but it's the Saints so...

He's a slow starter, it's why I haven't been too concerned about him.

Look, I'm a big Cam fan. Was a student at Auburn to see his rise to success. Being a SC native and current resident, I have always been a fan, even when he was being trashed about his discrepancies in college.

BUT

I have to say, I felt a negative blanket walk off the field when he was removed from the game today. Anderson brought a freshness with him to the game, cleared the air. I'm getting the feeling there may be some unspoken tensions within the offense. I'm not sure if you can place the blame on Cam or his protection and offensive weapons (do we even have any lately?)....but it is clear that Cam's frustration bleeds into the rest of the offense. The scary part is you can almost pin point the exact play in each game, where Cam's mental game is defeated. It's a similar feeling when I watch golfer losing the mental game in one single swing of the club.

The hope I'm resting on tonight is that we've lost to 2 of the best defensive teams and the best offensive team, so far this year. Mabye its a bad roll of the dice for our schedule. I will still be rooting on our team and pulling for Cam next week.

Cam is purely frustrated about the calls not being called the media bashing, and yes the offensive coordinator.  The first play of game he gets called for taunting but really he is mad bc he is trying to get up but the defensive end guy is just laying on him like dead weight..he gets up and throws football and does his Cam Newton 1st down move only to find out he is penalized for taunting.  I'm sure Cam his mentally breaking down..it is a lot of pressure on him..and No one is helping him even when he has done no wrong he is constantly being taken for granted..do this Cam don't do this..He literally has no support..That commercial sums it up.  You get tired of having to be perfect when you know your not but masking gets old ...The joy of the game has been taken away from Cam but that's just how the NFL wanted it..He's just going thru the motions out there.

And btw, I said that the same idiots that refused to acknowledge in March and April that our offense could use more help...that our OL, TE, and RB could use more talent...would be the same idiots in September and October bitching about Newton and the offense.

They sit around kissing the feet of Dave Gettleman and are the first ones to call you a moron for questioning the offensive talent on this roster surrounding Newton...yet come the regular season when the offense continues to struggle...are the FIRST posters to create threads about Newton being a problem.

Their agenda is so transparent.

Yes Cam has been playing bad, but I blame Denver for it and the coaches for not letting him heal up the past couple weeks.

I think Cam's brain has been turning into scrambled eggs since Denver, to put it bluntly. Not all concussions have the full symptoms that the NFL tests for. Just look at how Ohr's developed. Five days after the last game & the symptoms show up. Why do I think this? Because Cam is hesitating. Because he's mentally stopping & thinking about things that were 2nd nature to him. Defenses are able to fool him like a rookie when they couldn't last year. His footwork, that he worked so hard on last year, has regressed. He's not trusting his own skills. Even when he has time. Don't tell me it's all because the o-line is $hitting a brick. They aren't helping but they are not the reason; Cam has played with bad o-lines before. I just hope he takes the doctors' advice seriously & takes the time he needs to get well.

For the longest time, people have complained about the zone read, run game and relying on Cam too much in the run game. It still hasn't changed. Cam needs to be able to handle the ball off and that person take off. Once we get back and teams stack the box, we can get back to playaction. All I see from the Panthers is shotgun passing or zone read

You can watch all the tape you want...need better bodies at key spots.  Entire NFL knows the weakness we successfully schemed around.  Now we add another weak area at DB.  You can't coach around the fact you have no DEs and DBs.  There is only so much you can scheme up (and we went max protect already) to hide bad OTs and weak runners (when Stew is out)

That is exactly my point. i guess you missed it

Yep. It's all Cams fault his o-line can't protect him. His fault Bene got beat multiple times and Julio put 300 yards on him. It's also Cams fault that the run defense gave up all those big plays.

That was 1 week. They were fine the first 3 weeks.

Watch much football OP?

No man beyond the age of ten would call another man garbage. Period. Says much more about the OP than anything relative to a NFL game. Don't be a clueless flame throwing troll.

It may be helpful to grasp the fact that Cam Newton is an NFL MVP and one of the most gifted quarterbacks to ever play the game. It's also worth considering that he doesn't play in a vacuum, there are other factors in play.

There is no mature, reasonably knowledgeable football fan that would characterize Cam Newton as garbage.

Half of you people on this forum are dumb as hell.

That's true, but the other 70% knows the whole team is not right, right now. But something is wrong with Cam and I wouldn't be surprised if it comes out he's been suffering from concussion for a month.
