Cam Newton is playing the worst ball of his career this year. He's been garbage.

Big Ben has always had a more talented team around him. To be honest, I can't think of any other elite qb who has had so little to work with.

The facts are this.

When the offensive line was not allowing a pressure, Cam was 105.

With no pressure, 46.

The issue is pretty simple. Gettleman was too arrogant to build around the man.

We have talent too. Hell, most of the posters on this board, including me, thought we had the best WR corps since Smitty, Proehl, and Moose when this season started. The fact is, he's missing open WR's and holding the ball way too long. You can fire the OC if you want, but the route tree won't change. There will still be deep outs, slants, go routes and check downs. The QB just has to find the open man.

Talent. Where???

This mediocore wide receiving core with terrible hands and no separation ability.

I don't get people on this forum. We have one starting quality receiver and that Kelvin.

Well the route tree needs to change

I see a lot talk about Cam Cam Cam

We have had 1 RB rush for 100 yards in a game, the only game we've won. The offensive line not only sucks in pass protection, but in the run game too. Mike Tolbert should have been released after the SB meltdown and we should bring in a full power FB that can open holes. Gettlemagic

I'm telling you, the O-line is not that bad. It's not their fault when  Cam holds the ball for 5-6 seconds and you can't expect the running game to work when you can't throw the ball.

If we could traditionally run the ball without the zone read, and the oline could open holes it would force teams to stack the box and open up play-action. All teams are doing is just dropping coverage back. A RB is a QB best friend, it relieves the pressure. Stewart is missing big time, but he's not dependable. ATL is doing good offensive wise, because they can run the ball. ATL is 5th in rushing, Freeman is 5th in rushing yards, but 1st in rushing per carry. This run game relies on Cam too much

Let's see what Anderson can do. He clearly doesn't have the physical abilities of Cam and is clearly not a long term answer but if he looks good and we can win next week it gives Cam time to sit and watch someone else run the offense and reflect on what he can change when he does go back in. If we suck with Anderson then it proves that we have much bigger problems than QB..

I am wondering if Cam Newton was Andrew Luck would we get moronic posts like this? Hell, Ryan Tannehill doesn't even get posts like this on the Dolphins' board.

So you want to bench our MVP QB to see if he is the problem? And only if Anderson struggles that would convince you?

Panthers fans like you 10000000000000% does not deserve to even watch Newton warm up.

You could argue from the start of the season to half time of Minny was his Cam at his best.   Production however is dependent on those around him.

Big picture, Cam will get the most praise for our success and blame for the losses.  He deserves some blame like today, stupid penalty out of the gate, slowing up at the goal.

But picture we were exposed last season late and overachieved with horrible OT play.  We also have no rush attack minus Cam when Stewart is out.  Lastly, we knew last season we only had a pass rush at DT and entered the year with scrubs at DB.   So while you can and rightfully nitpick Cam....Gettlemen IMO is the Panther most at fault today.  Just because Cam pulled off magic last season doesn't justify Gettlemen's lack of addressing big issues and creating a new one.

This  x100.  Just because Newton and Olsen overcame the serve lack of talent doesn't give Gettlemen the license to just entire whole parts of the offense.

Anderson would take a serious beating if he had to play 4 games behind this OL too.

People have unrealistic expectations. Newton is human. Anderson is human. You can only allow your quarterback to endure so much punishment. If you cannot protect him, the season is a waste. We knew our OL was a glaring concern after the Super Bowl, and the rematch in Denver didn't look any better. But we sat on our hands. This is the result.

That's 100% true, but Cam's suckage keeps coming at the worst possible times and keeps letting momentum shift.

You're right, Cam did give up 300 yards to Julio.

He's struggling for sure but the defense is the reason we suck. No pass rush. Any QB is going to tear apart the secondary when they have 5+ seconds to throw.

Exactly! Cam is asked to be many things and do much more. It's all good when there's a win, but when there's a loss it's Supermans fault. Simply put, Cam has not been in a position to even try to carry this offense. Gettleman is to blame.
