WESTWORLD

Well, holy poo, I was reading some comments on iO9's weekly summary, and someone pointed out that Felix and Sylvester (Maeve's two tech buddies) are named after cartoon cats.  Are they hosts as well?

Mind = Blown!

What if we just don't know who's a host and who's not a host?  That's the way Ford wants it.

Anyone else think that Theresa saw her replacement being made?  Man, I can't wait to binge watching this again!

I thought Bernard was because he acted like one in a lot of ways, but that actor is just weird so I wasn't like 100% haha.  That was most definitely a replacement body for the lady.

Who knows who is a host, maybe everyone.   You have to imagine Ford's end-goal is to get his consciousness into a host to live forever.  Maybe not.

I'm still liking the William is Ed Harris theory though.    Or somewhere around that.

That was a fantastic scene by Hopkins.  When he just stood there looking really ticked off while they tried that little charade I KNEW he was up to something.   That's the best I've seen Hopkins in a long time.

Additionally, what if the Board Member from Delios was completely made up as well, a host. The board has not had any significant dealings or misgivings about anything going on in the park and it was all just a ruse from Hopkins to set up the Operations lady. The board member saying blood sacrifice and him saying it makes me think they are on the same sheet of music. Also the White Hat Black Hat theory is gaining strength. But I do find the timelines of Delores' revelations a bit confusing if that's true. As far back as 30 years ago she is questioning everything and then fast forward to Black Hat and she is still just putzing around watching her father get murdered over and over again? That seems like a hole.

That could be true but also don't forget there was a host on the couch and they record everything.  Ford knows exactly what is going on, at all times and was probably recording that conversation, so when he repeats "blood sacrifice" I think it's in reference to that.    I wouldn't put it past the board being made up though, heck, it may be a post-apocalyptic world and Westworld is the only thing left on Earth, lol who knows.

After the latest episode everything has broke wide open.  (spoilers below)

I agree, Ford "heard" every word that was being said.

The latest episode "Trompe L'Oeil" ( I had to look it up it translates from French to English meaning Optical Illusion) has really busted everything wide open for the audience. Now we are left to question Everything! With that being said I may even question the possibility they are even on earth. Hell, they could be on mars. I began to question the outside world when a couple of the employees were heard saying "I NEED this job". Even more so now when the butchers were willing to co-operate with Mae. I mean, how damn bad do you need to keep your job if you are willing to participate in something that could potentially be worse than that! Is it that bad out there? What's it like? Then other other hand I take a completely different turn and wonder if there are possibly multiple parks out there.

Also there was something very unsettling about the death of Theresa. It wasn't over dramatized or much of any sensationalism from the knowledge of her impending death. Instead she looks to emotionless Bernard and begs him no as if he were human when he walks towards her. Looking for human empathy from a former lover that isn't human at all.

She really should have taken much more notice of Ford when they had the talk at the hacienda, I think it was. When he verbally stopped every host within eye shot with a simple command. I think I would have extremely unnerved by that. However, she did fire up a smoke from being stressed out over it. Crazy show enjoying the hell out of it.

  • 2 weeks later...

Given they finally showed Bernard as the one who grabbed/strangled Elsie....I am fully convinced Elsie is definately not dead.  They didn't actually show her demise for a reason. Bernard "woke" before it actually showed it.

So her signal went off in the park because she wanted her security to come

but the more I watch the show the more I think it really is simply a show about Ford. He might be it.

Just finished episode 9....holy mother.

I'm becoming more and more convinced that white hat is the man in the black hat.  Consider that Deloris is one of the oldest hosts, and she has been rebuilt many times.  When Logan stabs open her belly to show the robotic underpinnings, that was the biggest clue.  Now in the preview for the finale, he walks through the church door to find Deloris...

I still wonder what the end game of this is.  What's going to close this season up?  I loved the Bernard flashbacks, the fact that his own son was a host...man...nightmare fuel there.  What truly is real?

What if everyone except Ford and the Guests are hosts?  Like how the Natives went after the security guy looking for Elsie's signal.  I hope we see what Ford's final story is.  I have a feeling he won't survive.

I was reading somewhere on Fannation about breaking down the Delios Terms of Service.  I can't guarantee anything from that site, but the idea is interesting.  While reading it, they made several allusions to the "Territory" and that the Park is on an island.  I thought about Mars instead.  Why not?  I mean, at the get go they have near perfect robots.  Why not have a Martian colony?  How many places on Earth can still be considered a legal Territory with it's own government?

Man, I love this show!

They also alluded to staff basically working for long stretches of time (days, weeks, months or years?)....before going home.  That IMO means it is very difficult to get there or that maybe most staff are versions of Bernard (who just don't realize they at the Hotel California)

I'm not totally on board with these two theories....but I'm not ruling out that Ford is the last man on Earth or the theory that Westworld takes place on another planet

    • Super raw, not sure he is worth a top 10 pick.  Primary a pass rusher.  A bit like Burns, very fast athletic but doesnt always follow the play.  His highlights look good but when you watch him play you can see he is just raw and needs to develop
    • Personally, I am not sold on Bryce yet--and I do not think anyone is saying they are, but I don't think Ward is on table when we draft anyway.  Not even sure if I would rather have him than one of the later QBs.  I see a lot of potential in Allar, Nussmeire, Rourke, and even Hamilton from Ohio State--Milroe is intriguing, but I am not sure he is an NFL QB.  Ewers is that sleeper who falls and becomes a solid starter. I think that we sign a veteran who has played and we draft one of these project QBs. To your point:  With that in mind, I think you have to take QB off the table in round 1, and if Bryce can string 4-5 games like KC together, we still need to draft a QB in round three or so---I really think Rourke is a great fit for this offense--he is accurate and gets the ball out quickly---he impressed me vs OSU.   Reason?  I think we may have a tough decision to make about Bryce in 2 years--will he be worth $60m?  That decision is a lot easier if you have been grooming a backup for 2 years who can play. In round 1: I am hoping for PSU's edge Abdul Carter In round 2:  I would like to see us grab a DT who can rush the passer.  Walter Nolen of Ole Miss is versatile and a bit raw. I think he could be an excellent complement to Brown. In round 3:  I would love ILB Danny Stutsman from Oklahoma.  He is a beast. With 11 picks, I would package our 4th rounders to move up into the third round and take a QB.  At the moment, I think Rourke is trending upward and he has the skills Canales seems to want in a QB.  Quick processor, quick release. I would use the fifth rounders on OL.  I know that I left out WR--however, we are getting Thielen back, XL will be improved, Coker will be improved, and Moore has been surprisingly good.  Sanders (TE) has been more than expected in the passing game.  I think we need D more than WR, and maybe we can get a veteran WR to sign or find a hidden gem late.
    • Wouldn't be surprised if he starts a couple Jets games this year with the way the Rodgers thing is going. Giants fans are pissed they didn't keep him lol. He might actually have a little bit of a market.
