Dante Rosario

Can anyone answer the question of why we have three tight ends on a team that doesn't utilize the tight end much except for blocking?

Actually the question is why we have three TE's, two of whom's major weakness is blocking.

That said Rosario needs to be used more, put him out as a 3r or 4th wideout on some plays. Use him like SD uses Gates.

Well, I'll first say "no" to the Rosario and WR question. He's good enough to destroy linebackers in coverage, not opposing corners, nickles, or safeties. Plus the uncertainty of whether he'll release and run a route instead of blocking adds a dimension to the offense that can't really be predicted (i say that with a hint of trepidation - it IS a Fox offense nonetheless).

But, as Fox always says, you get better with time, it's just the nature of the game. So, if Dante can already exploit the secondary a little, make good decisions, and make Jake look good with spectacular plays then go ahead and make him the every-down tight end. His blocking will improve with playing time and practice.

Release Jarret, insert Kenny Moore, and we have a more than capable offense. I mean, look at what that kid for the Giants is doing with Burress in prison.

He does have a dominant mouthpiece though.

It seems like it was just a couple months ago that everyone was calling for Rosario to be cut, and crowning Barnidge as the next Wesley Walls. Oh right...it was.

You won't see me signing on to that. People on here tend to wear their emotions on their shoulders. Unlike Fox, Rosario has shown consistent promise but yet he has been limited in almost every way.

i was watching him exclusively on sunday from the end zone and ALL HE DOES is get open.

it's amazing

Doesn't it piss you off? Thats one thing I like about Matt Moore, he may not be as experienced and you know he might not be as good as Jake who knows. But the guy will damn sure spread the ball around.

He's better than Jeff King for sure.

Why do so many people diss King? I dont understand. He can block and I dont remember if he's actually dropped a ball. He's not explosive but he's a good solid player

In fact our TE unit is the best in the NFL. I have yet to see Barnidge even on the field yet. But this thread is correct... Dante is a great talent and needs more passes and matchups with linebackers

i think to find the last time king dropped a ball you'd have to go all the way back tooooooooo.....ummm....last week?

yeah, thats it. last week.

king can make a nice catch most of the time but he can't do anything with it afterwards. he either falls down right away or at the first contact.

still, he should be targeted more, just like the rest of the TEs. all three of them are capable receivers. jake needs to be using them more. forget jarrett, forget moore. just throw to the Smith, Moose, the RB, and TEs and we'll do fine.

this week they are going to have to get rid of the ball fast. that's the only real way to beat the cowboys pass rush and the only way that the bucs and giants came away without having their QB sacked these past two weeks.

rosario should be a big part of the game plan, though. that guy is a playmaker.

Agree with the previous post. We need to work Smith, Moose, the RB's and TE's. This was our strategy this past weekend and Jake looked great. I loved how he used the TE in the middle of the field and actually hit the RB on swing passes or as a checkdown.

Use Smith as the playmaker. Once or twice long every game and once or twice throw it straight out to him and let him try to beat his one on one matchup at the line of scrimmage. Other throws to him need to be across the middle slants or fades along the sideline.

Moose can be a solid possession guy. Don't go long to him as we tried in game 1. Combacks for 7-10 yards and out patterns on 3rd downs are great.

Willy and Stewart need a few swing passes or dump passes each game. Love getting the ball to them in space. Don't really like alot of screen plays. We never have good timing with those.

Utilize the TE down the middle of the field. Go routes and 5-7 in routes. Should throw to these guys 4+ times a game.

Jarret and Moore are not gonna help this team. Can't get open and can't make plays.

He's got skills. Barnidge does to. The answer to helping Smitty is really right in our faces we just can't seem to use them.

...we have so much talent its hard to figure out who to use and when...its overload. Dont forget the Good Son either...freakin O is stacked... except for...
