Cam Newton's disinterest

At one point last year, we led the league in 2 play 1st downs. Back when we were on a stretch where we would actually pass the ball on 1st down. I don't remember the exact game we quit the practice, but I want to say the second Alt. game. We kinda went into a funk at that point.

Does anyone else remember that stretch? When we started putting up 30+ a game. Aw hellz...anybody????

Well...anyway. That's what I miss most,l besides reruns of Johnny Carson,0 PIE this7but that's another story. Quick slant to KB, and a Read Option to Stewy, was a first down. Dump to Olsen, hand-off to Stewy, first down. Read Option keep by Cam, first down, and we are in Field Goal range already.

With that said. Most times it does seem like Shula does expect cam to bail him out on 3rd down.

Small segment on Sports Center this morning about veteran QBs struggling  (Newton, Fitzpatrick,Palmer)

Steve Young mentioned that he felt Newton seemed 'disinterested' and I have to say watching  him live and on TV this season it sure seems that way and I posted such after the first two games, it's like he gives up and goes down.

i don't know if it's all the hits and he is tired of it or something else is going on physically or mentally but I do feel there is something to this and he seems very slow in his decisions and mechanics

i just don't see the joy that he had last year at all and it's a shame.

Here is hoping Atlanta's defense is the elixir to get him going again because we know as Cam goes so do the Panthers

You are as stupid as Steve Young.

I did quote you and sorry if you don't like the narrative

let me simplify

it's been a poor performance and not a performance to be expected of a MVP or an elite QB , add the interceptions to the completion % and it isn't pretty  neither is holding the ball too long, staring down receivers, standing in the end zone like  a statue unaware of where he is  won't win many games   I don't know where his head is but it doesn't seem to be in the game

He needs to have a solid game in Atlanta and luckily the two games after that are division and the NFC South is weak

No excuses  the Vikings came in to charlotte with no left tackle, no running back and a journeyman QB and kicked ass; hopefully, the Panthers can do the same Sunday

i have always made excuses for Cam in the past  no more  6 year vet  100 million dollars  Play like it

Lol

Now, to be totally honest. Maybe you should look at the post below yours. It is just a matter of course with the Huddle. Some are trying to be funny, some are trying to be sarcastic, or the ones just trying to be trolly, but all, are, for various reasons, going for some semblance of pie.

In laymen terms. Too many pie hores ruin the topic.

you mean the post quoted by the guy below me?  the op who is getting run over in this topic?

I dont for one second believe cam has checked out.  But as a fan and witnessing how the team feeds off of his energy I would love to see him with the look he had in his eyes last season when we got down or had a game on our hands.  It does look like to me that the punishment he has taken this year has him down though, and if he could keep his head up we can see that same fire from last season.  I think we will be fine, but todays game will say alot on how this season turns out for us.

Maybe they need to light the fire for him. Even Superman needs some encouragement or a push. Frustration is the mood but we will be fine.
