Crazy Stadium Experience on Sunday

I went to the Houston game last year and we had 4 front row upper deck tickets and 2 of the handicapped row tickets. Started on the front row and a lady told me to sit down... I told her in my drunk voice I paid for these tickets I will stand if I want to. She said "but I'm handicapped" I replied in my drunk voice: "u should have bought handicap seats". A fuging cowboys fan decked out in cowboys poo applauded me and said that I should do what I want, I paid for the seats. Shortly after that I moved to one of the handicap seats and they were the best seats I've had the pleasure of standing at. My boss still gives me hell about telling an old woman off...

Section 508 here... I'm a damn jack in the box in my seat, never once had a problem in our seats. We've had our PSLs for 4 seasons now and love our section, we are up and standing for every Defensive 3rd down, going nuts, we get loud all the time and we have fun.

The only time we've had remote problem however was last weekend when damn purple a$$hats invaded our stadium, and I'm including my family in this as my wife mistakenly took her mom (from Minnesota) and she (after 20 years of living here and rooting for the Panthers) decided to root for the fugging Vikings (I think to just piss her daughter off, yea.. my mother in law is that type).

Unfortunately, her daughter is like me, hell.. I once witnessed her take one of the metal folding chair in the HC row in the upper deck and start slamming it against the railing to make noise and almost get us thrown out. I didn't flinch when the usher's (yes plural) came running to threaten us with ejection, because I was in awe..

That being said, I got a text "We're coming home, this bitch is cheering for the fugging Vikings, she's not staying in our seats, I'll charge her next time, visiting fans pay.."

Never been so proud in my life..

Selfishness is multi-generational. Its not a boomer or millennial trait. Its a personal choice.

If you choose to stand knowing you are blocking the sight lines of someone else simply because it enhances your enjoyment of the game you are being selfish. I bought PSLs on the first rows because I didn't want to deal with people standing in front of me. My wife is a cancer survivor and I have bad knees so we sit most of the game. We make plenty of noise and are even in our seats right after halftime when many of the standers are doing it in concession stand lines.

If you go to an event where standing is the expectation and you demand other people sit, then you are the person who is being selfish. It seems to me that you knew what to expect from a football game, which is why you bought tickets in the front row. I think we all understand that there are people who can't stand for one reason or another and that's fine. Those people should not be precluded from attending the game, but they should take advantage of the options the team offers specifically for them, so that everyone is able to enjoy the game.

I'm really not trying to be insensitive here. I've developed some pretty severe hearing issues over the past few years to the point where being in certain environments causes significant issues. I don't ask my coworkers to keep their conversations down or stay away from my desk. I don't ask retail stores to change their acoustics or the volume of the music. I understand that in certain situations things will be painful or distracting if I'm not proactive. I have noise canceling earphones at my desk and try to go to places like Ikea on off times. It's not the world's responsibility to adjust itself to my issues.

Does any other stadium in the league have an issue with people standing?

In 2013 I flew out to Ralph Wilson Stadium to watch the Panthers vs Buffalo game. It was me and five other panther fans, invited by a buddy that lives there, who is a life long Buffalo fan. The crowd behind us was a little rowdy. Out of no where an usher accompanied by a State Trooper walked up to our section and asked my friend sitting next to me for his ticket stub. Within that moment the rowdy section behind us started chanting very, very loudly "Kick Him Out - Kick Him Out". I was half way laughing and half way annoyed by it. The ticket stub was produced in proper fashion, verified and handed back to my friend and off they went.

Twice during the game, an usher came up to us to tell us to sit down or we would be removed from the stadium for excessive standing. We weren't standing all the time, no where near it. No one behind us in the rowdy group ever told us to sit down that I recall, It just happened to us. It probably didn't help we all had on our Panther gear, other than our Buffalo resident host. Excessive standing my ass and our Host was extremely pissed at how we were treated. Outside of that I had an incredible time at the game. Those guys know how to tail-gate!

Yeah there are some places I simply wouldn't wear a Panthers uniform. My buddy says he almost got gang beaten when he went to an Eagles game.

I wish we had a hostile environment towards the enemy but at the same time we are a family friendly place and I am usually taking my kid.
