Crazy Stadium Experience on Sunday

BOA has to be the strangest sports stadium on the planet. The closer you get to the action, the less interested the fans are in the outcome of the game. A lot of "fans" sitting in the best seats have the mentality of "I don't care who wins, but I want you to sit down and be quiet." Yet if the team is bad that season they don't show up to the games. It does make any sense. You don't care who wins, but if they lose too much you don't show up. What??? Welcome to the world of people who are obsessed with social status. They want people to know that were in expensive seats for important games, but the game itself is irrelevant beyond their narcissistic socializing goals. Shake some hands, chit chat, talk business, pat some of their cronies on the back, and then here's a couple of fans standing making noise. Unacceptable! Usher! Get over here! That's why I only go to a few games a year. Not a good stadium for football.

A couple people have recommended contacting the Panthers. The money really isn't the issue here and I'd rather share my experience with someone who might care, rather than customer support staff who have no influence on policies.

Does anyone have any recommendations on who to get in touch with and maybe how to reach them? Working at a large company myself, I know executives do like to hear from customers, but I doubt someone like Danny Morrison has their email address publicly available.

I wrote Morrison a letter and hand signed it a few years ago and he called me personally. Just be professional and offer your contact info and they will reach out.

Agree, BofA is pathetic unless it's a playoff game or a game to clinch division. I own PSLs in 529 and don't miss a game but I'm a diehard. Most of my section is legit but our joint gets overrun my every opposing fan base except the Jags and Cardinals. Any other of the 29 teams and there are literally thousands if not tens of thousands of opposing jerseys. Wait until KC comes here. Place will be 25% red. I once had faith that things would change but if we let 49er fans take over our poo for the opening game after appearing in the Super Bowl, there is no hope. It is what it is. Our fan base is the John Fox of fan bases; Mediocre and willing to punt if it's too hot, too cold, too wet, too dry, too late, or if they can make a quick buck off a fat Steeler loser.

What's your story?

It was after 2010 and I was pissed at the lack of effort the organization was putting into winning. The Ravens brought about 30,000 purple clad fans into our joint and Brian St Pierre was slinging the rock. I know I'm not entitled to a winning team but they threw in the towel and stole money from fans. He called me and we had a nice conversation.

I have season tickets to my college team.  Been going for years.  Standing is more prevalent in college than it is in the NFL.

Even at my horribly advanced age of 54, I stand through the whole game.  I prefer it actually.

I'm betting you think I agree with you, OP...

I don't.

They provide SEATS at games for a reason.  If and until they remove such seating from the stadium you happen to be in, people who purchase the rights to those SEATS have a right to SIT.

And YOU don't have the right to block them at your own personal preference.

Sorry.

"Oh I wasn't blocking them, they were just being assholes!"

1. Sure you weren't.

2. You don't get the right to determine OTHER paying customers sight-lines.

Again, I'm not a cheese-eating, wine-sipping football fan.  I don't go to Ole Miss and The Grove on football Saturdays, I go to Auburn.  And there the preferred tailgating menu is BBQ, beer, and whiskey.

And we stand.  And we cheer.  And we are polite and considerate of other paying customers.

(P.S. Except for Bama fans.  Fug them.)

Lol. That's the same game I emailed the panthers after. It was the Brian st Pierre game. Richardson called me and we chatted on the phone. I was blown away by it and I have a ton of respect for him for how he handled all those calls.

Fine, lol. Section 205, Row 11, Seats 3-4.

We were harassed by basically the entire crowd us. Four separate groups were upset (note that there was no one in the seats immediately behind us) that we were standing. It's one of those things where when that many people are that pissed at you, it's hard to not to think you were the ones in the wrong. We did our best to mind our own business though, and have been to game after game without issue.

I had a guy (row 12, seat 5 or 6) screaming at me inches from my face. When I left to finally resolve the issue, a group of six - ten people about five rows back were ganging up on my fiancee to the point where she was in tears. Just a surreal experience.

Don't mean to contradict your story but We sit a couple of rows back and we saw none of this happen.  The seats you say were empty were occupied by 2 men.  Now they did not stay the whole game but were there for a while.  Two ladies were sitting in the first 2 seats on row 12.  Are you sure this is where you were sitting?  We stood and cheered for a large portion of the game.  Sorry but we saw none of this happen.

Sorry I'm wrong!  We're on the opposite side of 205.  Please accept my apology.  That's what happen when you get a little age on you.

Sorry again!
