Our Panthers are much better than this

Watching this ATLvsNO game got me realizing that Carolina Panthers have had much celebration in the locker room following many weeks of victorious game days, in the near or far past . I am under the impression that we simply just got too relaxed and needed a game like last one, to light the fire under our asses. True, we have a slightly different team year in a year out, but collectively we are capable of demonstrating excessive strength to our opponents, with knock out punches.

The game this past weekend, was a jab thrown by the opponent, which landed.

Now we simply reset... and start throwing that right hook again, Keep Pounding panther nation.

I said it in another thread, coaches and players got big heads after last season and for some reason thought they could coast this year.

Teams are going to play the Panthers like they are the defending champions.

There is a very good reason why the Patriots win season after season, (besides cheating) they change the gameplan to fit the team they are playing, and adjust when it breaks down.

Until Coach Rivera and co. change and adjust, this sh!t will happen all season.

I would agree, like last year when we lost to Atlanta I feel like it made us realize we can't take anything soft or be easy on preparation.. but I think the Vikes just prepared better and made better calls and had better fitness overall. You would figure their defensive line who carries around a lot of weight would get tired at some point in the game in a high humidity high heat away game. I think this is more of a wake up call for our coaching staff, that they need to step it up for our players to succeed

We just need some players to step up, bradberry is the only guy to step up so far and he's a rookie that's embarrassing that a rookie is doing this better then guys that have been here. No de's have step up, funchess hasn't step up, oher looking like he regressed, Rivera still doesn't know how to win a game where the refs are biased. Someone needs to fix the lining up 1.8 seconds before

the play-clock expires

My concern is not they are coasting. My concern is that since they lost the Superbowl and since they lost the first game to Denver ; is that they think losing is now okay. That since we can't be undefeated this year we don't have to be as sharp. And also I also fear that certain players will begin to think their efforts become meaningless. Thats how we become a 7-9 team again.

But again its only week 3. We really only played one bad game.

There is nothing different with the coaching, the offense, or the special teams from last season.

The difference is the defense. The discipline, experience, and game changing ability was cut from the team. It was replaced with lack of focus, inexperience, and a lack of urgency.

Jared Allen and Kony Ealy have been replaced by Kony Ealy and Lavar Edwards. That is a significant downgrade.

Josh Norman, Peanut Tillman, Roman Harper, Kurt Coleman and Tre Boston have been replaced by James Bradberry, Daryl Worley, Kurt Coleman, Tre Boston, and Marcus Ball. That is more than a significant downgrade.

The reduction in the discipline, experience, and game changing ability has placed added pressure on the DL to get to the QB faster. This in turn has stretched the great LB unit the Panthers have to produce what they did last season plus help the secondary match the turnover production from last season, and help the DL generate a quicker pass rush.

The front office has asked the LBs to do way too much now. This has resulted in revealing the coaching problems that were covered up due to the turnovers and defensive TDs last season. It has also put the offense in a position due to the coaching flaws of having to play from behind late in games more often. This allows opposing defenses to exploit the weakness in the OTs and Cam's weakness of making decisions under pressure as a drop back passer.

If Bradberry can catch the INTs that hit him in the hands, Worley can punch out some fumbles like Peanut, Boston can ball hawk from the FS position like Coleman, and Coleman can force fumbles like Harper in the box, then the Panthers will be able to cover up the ugly coaching flaws again by keeping the offense from losing their half time lead.

I hope it happens very soon.

So the Defense that has 4 INTs, and 2 Fumble Recoveries cannot force turnovers?

Or the Defense that according to ESPN Stats in in the top 5 in yards per game, and passing yards per game, and only given up 7 TDs in 3 games cannot seem to compete?

Our Defense, good sir, is still very good, despite what folks will have you believe.

This team goes, as every team before them, and every team after them. as our QB goes. Cam had him a difficult game. And we lost. Coinky dinky? Brady threw an INT, and we beat them.  Cam had a bad day, we lost. Funny how that works.

The simple truth is. When you win, faults are covered. When you lose, faults are revealed. People tend to harp on faults,  and modern instant media has given them a platform. It is how you use that platform that defines you.

Since Cam stood on the sidelines and watched Peyton carve us up. Way back in 12. Cam is 42-16-1. Including the Post Season.

I look at that and say: Man, I have been a Lions fan for a lifetime. And a Panther fan since inception. And I am grateful for this ride.

You? You seem to be having a difficult time just enjoying the moment. We are living history here. It may not be perfect. But dam man, It is still historic.

I mean c'mon man. 3 straight Divisional Crowns. A trip to the Superb Owl, A future that looks bright as poo on a shingle. Fans. You cannot have a team without them.

Sorry for the rant. I am half Huddler, and should have been in bed hours ago. But hell man. Why you all gotta dis on my team?
