My daughter insisted to me that there's no such thing as a silent 'l' based on our debating the correct pronunciation of 'salmon' (she pronounces the l).

I asked her to pronounce words like 'half' and 'calf' that way.

Naturally, she insists I'm still wrong.

It has nothing to do with those individual acts, the fact he puts himself in those situations over, and over, and over, and over again means he has poor judgement/self control which is why you don't invest in him.

I think they do it on purpose to see if you will correct them.
