Former Carolina Panther Greg Hardy arrested for possession of a controlled substance

Richardson police arrested former Dallas Cowboys defensive end Greg Hardy late Sunday night on a drug possession charge, police said.

Hardy was stopped shortly before midnight on a traffic violation, but was arrested and charged with possession of a controlled substance penalty group 1, Sgt. Kevin Perlich said.

Hardy signed a one-year contract with the Cowboys in March 2015. Prior to joining the Cowboys, Hardy spent five years of his NFL career with the Carolina Panthers. It was during his tenure there that he was arrested in May 2014 at a Charlotte condo when an argument between him and his then-girlfriend Nicole Holder escalated and resulted in both calling 911.

    • I think free agency should be to fill holes, but the draft is where you find your stars/elite players.  Here is why, and it is mathy.  I majored in English/Journalism. I draft Williams and get him for 4 years at $2m per.  I then sign him to a $26m  4 year contract.  Williams was my DT at an average of $14m per year for 8 years. I sign Williams as a free agent for $26m, I get him for 4 years and during those four years, paid him an average of $12m more than average over 8 years...Hold on, there is more. If I draft Williams at $2m per year for 4 years and then let him enter free agency, you could argue that I got a bargain, but if you look at the arc of a typical career, you allowed a developing player to occupy a roster spot and you paid $8m for him to go to another team during his prime. So it is best to draft and keep your players--and not overpay for free agents or let your developmental talent walk.   I am dizzy now.
    • Currently 31 players on contract in 2026 with $89,178,390 in cap space per OTC. However, 5 of those players are just void deals and 2 of the players the financial terms of their contracts have not been disclosed yet. So, we really aren't in great cap shape for 2026 at the moment. Lots more moves still on the table to see how it shakes out.
    • Aaron Rodgers' best offer is apparently from the Giants Although we don't know yet where Rodgers will end up, we do know that his biggest offer is coming from the Giants, according to The Athletic. If Rodgers is making his decision based on money, then maybe he goes to New York, but it still feels like the Steelers are the leader in the clubhouse, or maybe there's no leader in the clubhouse. No one seems to know with Rodgers.
