With the debate tomorrow and so much else going on in Charlotte, the world, and the league, the deal could be done this morning and no one would bat an eye.  SMH

Yep but JR is fine with giving smitty like 3 chances after all his fugups but hardy cannot even earn one..

He actually did play week 1 2014, before the league ramrodded the Panthers and JR never looked back.  Not to mention Smitty ACTUALLY did what he was accused of doing.

I am of the belief that RR, and Gman took a risk this off-season by basically keeping the status quo in regards to OT, and DE. Let me explain.

Maybe, just maybe, when they gave Oher his extension, they were hoping he would take another step up. Or they looked at Remmers and thought that we have won a lot of games with him, and maybe he can take another step up. Or that Williams would come in and take that RT spot by storm.

Or that maybe Ealy would continue to show growth. Or that CJ maybe could have one more good year. Maybe Delaire, or Cox could take that next step.

Now if you are RR, or Gman, and you are evaluating your team. All these maybes have to run through your mind. You expect players to grow. You have to have faith that the guys you brought in can do the job. We brought them in for a reason, let's coach them up.

Part of me can't blame them for betting on themselves. Unfortunately, it doesn't seem to be working. If it continues to be a problem, I would expect them to address it this off-season. But they took a calculated risk, and it does not seem to be paying off.

For the most part, our Oline played very well last year. There was no reason for the Panthers not to think they could see improvement. It is too early to call this. Especially considering the 2 Defenses we have played so far.

For the most part, last year our DEs were a shaky group. The Panthers bet on improvement from the kids. That experiment seems to have backfired so far.

tl/dr version: We are still a very good team.

I completely agree with you on some points but the game plan on offense needs to change. It's fair to say our tackles get killed against speed rushers so we have to start to get the ball out fast. If not, we are definitely in for a long season especially with the Rams, Chiefs, Oakland, and Seattle all coming up soon. They all have big time pass rushers with only one of the games being at home. We have a lot of work to do and I believe we can get it done with the right adjustments. Also this won't be the last time we see the Vikings this season.

Anybody watch the chiefs game last night? the amount of times Alex Smith spent the whole game throwing quick slants, they shredded the jets D. I know only the jets but i dont understand why we don't do it.

All kb would need to so is get his body in front of the cb. Got to be worth a try right?

Listen this is just my ignorance showing, but it seems to me after watching all these guys crush us with short passes, how is the west coast offense not considered the best? Ive yet to see a defense stop this kind of passing attack and render it useless.

Reality is the front seven hasnt been "Dominant" the last 3  seasons.  TD and Luke makes it look a whole lot better than it is by themselves. Never understood why everybody kept hanging on that narrative.

Totally agree. Unfortunately, I think Carolina believes the hype.  We can't be taken seriously as super bowl contender until the defensive ends can generate a consistent pass rush.  Ealy isn't as effective at RDE because he has to go up against the other teams best pass protector.  He's more effective on the left side. Charles Johnson is done. I'm glad he's only signed for one year.  Gettleman can't afford to ignore the position next year. It has to be addressed via free agency or the draft.

PS: I also think our running game is overrated. If you take away Cam's rushing yards our running game is average at best.

Half the sacks today were on cam though. He held on to the ball wayy to long, especially on that safety. The other half though were absolutely terrible in the fact that the blitzing man was either left unblocked or oher let the guy go right by em.

I absolutely agree. The safety in particular, was all Cam.
