Same story DE and OT..

Probably our biggest need. While Oher and Remmers have games where they look serviceable, our defensive line haven't smelled pressure in a while. I'll say it again, our best DE today was a guy who was on a practice squad two weeks ago. That speaks volumes to me about the situation. Release the Kraken!

How long before people realise Hardy isn't coming back?

Greg Hardy is no longer a football player.

His agent says he's one of the top DE's in the NFL.  He's right.  He would have to have just turned 38, not 28 as he just did, for anyone to realize what you say under this same insane, hypocritical scenario.

Is his agent not one of his best friends who happened to be there the night it all happened?

Or was that his "manager"?

wish hardy wasn't such a douchebag  he is so much better than charles johnson and ealy either sucks or does amazing . our best de was lavar edwards lmao

Hardy Jr is a human being when not moonlighting as a mythological sea creature.  Like most other human beings, there are varying opinions.  A douchebag to some is a great guy to others, like Thomas Davis.

Thank god we have a 1st round LB who only plays against two TE sets and arotational DT rather than the positions we need good players

Only bash that if you can give players who should have been taken instead.  Ogbah still doesn't have a sack and Dodd wasn't even on the stats sheet today.

I just wish Shaq would play more. To be fair to your comments, I wish we would sign Hardy, but it isn't going to happen. We are going to stick with what we have and hope they improve. We get a lot better as the season goes on every year. We will be ok

"Ok" as in winning the division ok, or "ok" as in potential superbowl contender ok?

That's a good question. We don't look like a super bowl team at this point. We will be ok for playoffs and if we improve to last years standards, we will make a super bowl run. If there is no pass rush, we will fail. Simple as that. The offense will click, we are lacking turnovers and sacks.

I am of the belief that RR, and Gman took a risk this off-season by basically keeping the status quo in regards to OT, and DE. Let me explain.

Maybe, just maybe, when they gave Oher his extension, they were hoping he would take another step up. Or they looked at Remmers and thought that we have won a lot of games with him, and maybe he can take another step up. Or that Williams would come in and take that RT spot by storm.

Or that maybe Ealy would continue to show growth. Or that CJ maybe could have one more good year. Maybe Delaire, or Cox could take that next step.

Now if you are RR, or Gman, and you are evaluating your team. All these maybes have to run through your mind. You expect players to grow. You have to have faith that the guys you brought in can do the job. We brought them in for a reason, let's coach them up.

Part of me can't blame them for betting on themselves. Unfortunately, it doesn't seem to be working. If it continues to be a problem, I would expect them to address it this off-season. But they took a calculated risk, and it does not seem to be paying off.

For the most part, our Oline played very well last year. There was no reason for the Panthers not to think they could see improvement. It is too early to call this. Especially considering the 2 Defenses we have played so far.

For the most part, last year our DEs were a shaky group. The Panthers bet on improvement from the kids. That experiment seems to have backfired so far.

tl/dr version: We are still a very good team.
