Panthers and halftime adjustments

This isn't just referring to this game but in general.  Why are the Panthers, typically against respectable teams, horrible in the second half?  Especially relative to how they perform in the first half.

For example, today.  We were getting the ball out of Cam's hands quick in the first half.  Second half comes and we just implode.  Too many long developing plays.  Vikings O adjusted to our defense and we didn't do the same thing in return.  Or the first game of the season against the Broncos.  Ron Rivera is a good coach, but he's horrific at halftime adjustments.

Rivera said he was happy with the first half and Zimmer said he was pissed and they were making adjustments Rivera did not.

We lost in the SB and quote: "They didn't change anything" "They did the same thing they did all year"

DUUUUUUUUUUUUUURRRRRRR

Rivera isn't very smart.

Shula + Cam.... no bueno. LONG routes all game... predictable.. The problem is, Shula thinks he's a genius with the 965 running formations but can't seem to fathom throwing quick outs, slants, etc...

And for as good as Cam is, he is wildly inconsistant this year. What the hell did I watch.

We literally got this s*** kicked out of us. Shameful performance on O.

KB....nowhere in sight unless its holding or an illegal block.. Oher getting man handled "Remmer style"....Funchess dropping the damn ball like it's hot...Add in the refs AGAIN ...then sprinkle the usual special teams BS and this is what you get. I'm not giving up my boys...ever ...BUT that was pathetic. Worse part being, it was sooo bad I don't know who to point the finger at.

One thing is for certain, whoever we play next weekend is going to get the treatment... but we need to go back to square one.... and stay there until we get our heads out of our asses..... Really ....Really.

How many games do you think the Panthers will win leaning on CAP, Fozzy, Brown, and Ginn for offensive production?

Cam, KB, Funchess, and Olsen being used as decoys is an example of inept coaching.

Garbage game plan. Nothing more, and nothing less.

If the coaches create a game plan that relies on their players getting 0 penalties and 0 sacks, then they should not be coaching in the NFL. Teams average 7 penalties a game over the past 5 seasons.

Learn to coach through it. You can not rely on your defense to bail your coaching out with turnovers every game.

    • I don't really like the phrase, "moral victory". I get what's meant by it, but does that mean that if you do the opposite (play poorly but win) it's an immoral victory? 🤔
    • I blame Evero because he is overrated. Vance Joseph created the defense in Denver that he took credit for. Wilks ran the ball down his throat and Darnold had a 103.8 rtg.  Last year we were decent in yards allowed, and horrible in everything else. Only reason? We kept giving up good field position.  He's had his choice of players to bring in since his scheme is so "complicated." Maybe he should stop trying to be so fancy like running Cover 4 on 3rd and 1 earlier and focus on fundamentals like tackling. These years of Eric Washington, Phil Snow, and Evero must have gotten you confused on what a real defense looked like. Go back and watch the McDermott and Wilks years- this dude is sofT.
    • I tried to make it a point in the opening post that I don't think the offense is a finished product. I think we still need more talent at WR, better play calling, catch more consistently, elimate ridiculous penalties,  and be more consistency in scoring points. I'm just saying, they look markedly better than last year imo. They have scored 20 or more in 6 games and 30 or more in 2 games. And that's particularly notable considering they only mustered 10 points and 3 points in first 2 games of this year and they got blanked on 0 points two games in a row to wrap up last season . I'd say that's a market improvement.  I'm not crowning them and saying we have a top 10 offense or anything.  I'm comparing them to themselves in recent history.
