Lady Gaga is your Superbowl halftime entertainment

This trend of having women singing at the Super Bowl halftime show is a weird trend:

  • Lady Gaga
  • Coldplay
  • Katy Perry
  • Bruno Mars (yes, not a chick. but chick-friendly. And his performance kicked butt)
  • Beyonce
  • Madonna
  • Black Eyed Peas

It wasn't until 2010 where we had this run...

  • The Who
  • Bruce
  • Tom Petty
  • Prince
  • Rolling Stones
  • Paul McCartney
  • .... who let Jessica Simpson in here?  Oh right - this was the last time the SB was played in Houston
  • Shania
  • U2
  • Aerosmith
  • Phil Collins

Have we run out of mega superstars who can *rock* a stadium? Have we not forgotten the horrendousness of '97's Blues Brothers tribute band with John Goodman? Or '87's Disney epic starring.... George Burns and Mickey Rooney?  WTF?

[[disclaimer: Gaga does have some good music, was awesome on last year's AHS season, and will definitely be over-the-top theatrical... but isn't necessarily the best choice for the widest possible fan base of Meat Loving HooRah Football Manly Manly Men Fans]]

AC/DC is not heavy metal, its barely rock n roll. Now unless you are talking about 70's AC/DC, okay.

But let's gets real here, Gaga was walking around with her tits out just last week. I guess the NFL cares about tits on worldwide tv like they care about player safety.

    • That's a loser mentality. We moved up to pick number 1 just the season before last and what did that get us? A point guard. If you think having pick 7 instead of 3 changes our future you're trippin. Most people here were saying 4 or 5 wins this season would be considered a success. Now, we're almost there and some of you want us to lose every game for a roll of the dice.  Amazing what some people have become these days.
    • I don’t think you can point to a single game and say “that was great play calling”. But as you point out, he is getting better.  He’s not great but I don’t think people hate him and he has the locker room (it appears so). I think he has navigated the Bryce benching fairly well and I suspect he had to deal with some issues with Diontae and no one seems to be worse for wear so kudos to him.  If I had to guess I think when he retires from coaching most of his career will have been spent as an OC but that is my take and hope I am very wrong.
    • Glad we can find some common ground. It's nice that there are actually a few teams somehow worse than us for a change. That's my main takeaway from the last 2 games. Now let's just see how ugly things get the rest of the way.
