just a few hours ago in Charlotte we lost another human life to a police shooting - this time an elderly, disabled, unarmed black man reading a book in his car.. this bat sh!t crazy.. how do you guys make excuses for this sh!t..

no, like seriously.. how!?! How do you see this happen everyday and not get the least little bit upset, but get upset at Kaep or whoever for simply stating that THERE IS A PROBLEM and we need to discuss it and fix it..

terrorist use box cutters to kill over 3,000 innocent lives and overnight our airports totally change.. countless lives have been taken at the expense of itchy trigger fingers and foul play over decades and nothing happens..

Cam needs to shut up and just play football. He looks and sounds like a clown when he talks or dances around certain issues. I hope he never, ever opens his mouth about social issues because he's messing up my view of him and I want it to remain football only. TV ratings are down across the board for prime time NFL games this year.  In my 46 years of life I've seen more politics inserted into sports.  Many people watch sports to escape.  I do worry we are going to hurt the sport we love.

What are they accomplishing by doing this? Bringing awareness? Let them go to a BLM protest on their own time, if they feel the need to join a protest.  I see nothing that is even slightly resembling courage in these protests. It's all about seeing the media giving this ridiculous amounts of attention and a few marginal NFL players deciding that they want in on the action.

 

Is a fist to the sky supposed to bring this country closer together? I can't think of many things more divisive than a black power salute. Some people seem so desperate to pretend that we're still living in the 60s(if acting like it's still the 1960s doesn't work, just take it back to the 1860s).

I'm not at all trying to be insensitive to the issue, but tragedies happen every day to people of all races and creeds. But that doesn't sell newspapers or generate web traffic, does it? Who kills more black males aged 18-34? Cops, or black males aged 18-34? 

And someone mentioned  the "black on black crime schtick" earlier in the thread. I'd love to know how hard, indisputable facts are a "schtick".  Should we look at white on black crime numbers instead? How about black on white crimes? It seems totally pointless for so much of the focus to be on cops....unless the goal is to make cops afraid to do their jobs.

I believe MJ is one of his mentors, and as MJ has said famously "even republicans buy shoes", and as someone who works in that industry that is the greatest advice you can get, wanna get into politics? make enough money playing and you can do what ever you want. their playing career is short anyhoo just wait till their done.

How can anyone argue against that? I will never understand those that just want to keep there head in the sand and say "hey we have come a long way since the 60s.. they should be happy with where we are.."
I can't even this morning.. i can't even.. a man just died and you are justifying why he deserved to die less than 24 hrs after he passed..

How am I justifying anyone's death? We were talking about Kaepernick and protests. Would you honestly not find a white power salute divisive and offensive? Seriously?

When we're all playing by the same set of rules and stop looking towards the past to justify current behavior, we can finally get that true equality that we're all supposedly striving for.

But until we move on, we'll never truly "move on".

Cam was furious with the coaches getting the play calls in last week. He was caught on camera yelling at his coaches on the sideline from the field.
