Yada yada yada history. Blah blah blah different team. But yeah, you got us. Pay back be coming.

I think you guys are solid in most areas. Your CBs can be covered up by your front 7. Also your team seem to face a lot of 2nd and longs due to you DTs. You'll be fine. We are the fix your Dline needs.

Plenty of folks around here are still wondering how he went undrafted. The kid can flat out play, and has a bloodhounds nose for the ball. He is going to fit in really well for us.

I'll tell you why. We needed a FS. Cash simply wasn't what we wanted. Instead we took Kearse who needs some refining but has looked decent so far. We needed a guy that could play center field and flip and play in the box the next play.

Everybody wants that S that can do both play center field, and play in the box. We have Coleman, who had 8 INTs last year. So he can roam around back there, but is not all that hot in the box. Or Boston, who can play in the box, but has his troubles in pass coverage.

That said. We had 60 sacks last year. You know that helped our DBs out greatly. So far this year, we are having trouble getting to the QB. Which is going to put more pressure on that backfield. Don't get me wrong, we are still pretty good back there, but if the pass rush doesn't pick it up, it could be a long year for our DBs.

So sorry, but if you guys think that you are scoring 40 on the Vikings I think you are sorely mistaken.  If you get to 30 I will be very surprised.  I am with Vikesfan I think 60-40 is a pretty good estimation on your chances of winning.

40 is our average at home. So we don't need to score 40 to maintain that over the last two games. 46 last week plus 34 this week keeps it rolling.

36 isn't an impossibility. It isn't even an improbability.

Thanks. This is really want I wanted to know. What does you depth at DL look like? Anyone after Early?

Pass rush has been....a problem. Mario Addison is a pass rush specialist but he hasn't been doing anything as of late. Charles Johnson is old and a step slow- he's been "this close" to so many sacks. Ealy looked amazing in the Superbowl, but unlike others I'm still not sold on him- he's definitely incosistent.

Our DT depth is out of control good though. I love our first round pick Butler. KK is a beast, Star is great, and we signed Paul Solalai in the offseason.

Yup.  I've seen the vikes defense outscore their offense.  Not very sustainable.  Obviously panthers must protect the football this wknd.  Also seen a putrid running game, QBs getting harassed all game long,  and stefon Diggs doing the damn thing!

The points aren't what I am talking about. I am talking about the disruption the defense causes.

Just got around to watching the short Game Plan Panthers vs Vikings video at Panthers.com

Wow, Eugene is pretty much rendered speechless by the play of Bradford & Diggs.  Sounds very very surprised (and a tad anxious?) about how good they were last week.

He and Szoke do go on to talk about how the Panthers defense can get to him and break up plays, but if Bradford & Diggs have games like last week, it could definitely by a tough one for the Panthers.  Seeing in slow motion some of the plays they made really has me impressed.

We need to bring our A game this week.

From the Minnesota Star Tribune, an interesting article about the potential match-up between Kelvin Benjamin & Xavier Rhodes.

Quote

In each of the Panthers’ three losses [since their last game against the Vikings in 2014], they’ve been able to run the ball effectively with 7.8, 4.4 and 4.9 yards per carry against the Falcons, Broncos and Broncos, in chronological order.

Where those defenses clamped down on was Newton, who in each of those games couldn’t eclipse 60 percent completion or create a 100-yard receiver.

That was also the case at TCF Bank Stadium, where Newton fell 0 for 6 while targeting Rhodes, who deflected three of those passes. Then-rookie Panthers standout receiver Kelvin Benjamin was limited to just five catches, none against Rhodes, on 12 targets for a pedestrian 56 yards.

Through two games this season, Benjamin already has 199 yards and three scores. Enter Rhodes.

A stingy and opportunistic defense has vaulted the Vikings to a 2-0 record. The return of their top cornerback could further raise the level of play to match what could very well be their regular season’s most dynamic and challenging offense.

Much has changed since that November 2014 win, chiefly Newton.

“He’s taken his game to the next level,” said Vikings cornerback Captain Munnerlyn, who played with Newton from 2011-2013. “When I was there, he was very athletic; he’s still athletic. He was making plays with his legs and beating people off natural talent. Now he’s making plays with his head, being a smarter player, reading defenses and throwing the ball in tight windows.”

The Vikings feel Rhodes has also made strides, a thought reinforced by strong summer practices that saw him intercepting passes almost every other day. The fourth-year cornerback has learned how to use his length while continuing to iron out kinks that lead to starts like last season, when he was the NFL’s most-penalized cornerback through the first four weeks.
