Who the fug can we get as an OC that can do better than Shula has done?  Give me some names.  Fact is he's the best OC we've EVER had.  And don't say Chud.  Chud had Cam for 2 years and Shula still did better.  I only mention Chud because I have seen other people mention him (not necessarily you).  I remember the game day threads with Chud as our OC and people were saying a lot of negative things about him too.  

I understand a lot of you guys are new fans of this team and there's nothing wrong with that in and of itself, but when you start talking all this nonsense without realizing the ineptitude of previous iterations of our offense I just shake my head.

Just because you're used to poo sandwiches doesn't mean you're supposed to get excited when you get a poo burrito,

 

I know I seem pretty hard on Shula, but I know it could be worse. That we can all agree on. 

I just want our team to be the best ever, and seeing us make some of the same mistakes over and over just gets old.

I don't know why this thread reminds me of a live WWE event,  when the crowd chants John Cenas name,  "Let's go cena!"..   The other half replies.   "Cena Sucks!"

Again I say...how much better do you want to be than the #1 offense?  As for me, if we have a top 10 offense I'm ecstatic.  There are some plays I question too but you know what?  I'm not an offensive coordinator.  I don't go through hours of game tape. 

What really gets me sometimes is when you see people in gameday threads complaining about us running the ball.  And it doesn't matter where we run the ball (i.e. outside, inside, whatever)...if the play doesn't gain 50 yards some people want to explode with rage.  Those runs help set up that pass to Benjamin who might have single coverage, or Olsen, or Ginn.  You run the ball to bring the safeties up, to draw one on one coverages.  You don't run the ball just to gain yards, although that is nice.  You run the ball so you can pass more effectively.

Again, we're talking about Mike Shula. The guy who disappeared into obscurity after Tampa Bay (fielded one of the worst offenses statistically in history after guys like Alstott retired).

No coach is perfect.  I don't think anybody thinks Shula is perfect.  But you need to go to the Seahawks message board and understand that you'll be one of those guys wanting to hang Bevell.  He's getting some of the EXACT same complaints there that you guys are lobbing about Shula.

Dont waste your time.  The same people come here all the time and look for things to bitch about Shula.  Logic and reason are really wasted when some folks have their mind already made up and just look for things which justify their already decided opinion.  It is always the same folks week after week.
