Cam Newton brings his food truck to stadium and Ron Rivera picks up the bill

In an effort to throw a little fun into lunch, the Carolina Panthers brought three food trucks to Bank of America Stadium to feed the players, coaches and staff.

One of them was “Smokn’ Aces’’ owned by quarterback Cam Newton, whose image is painted on both sides of the Carolina blue truck by California artist Mark Paul Deren.

Carolina coach Ron Rivera picked up the bill. The event was so popular that it’s likely to be a regular on Thursdays, minus Rivera paying.

“They wanted to try to do something a little bit different for the players,’’ Rivera said of the food staff. “It seems to be a nice little treat, so we'll see how it goes.’’

Panthers wide receiver Philly Brown got the shrimp Po Boy at Cam Newton's food truck today. He's taken a few bites but it still looks good. When I asked about the media invite Newton responsed: "Come on. Bring cash!"

Cam is so cool for this truck. I suspect he's gonna pop up and surprise serve one day when he has time.

Damn that looks good. Good look by Cam, just another way to get involved with the community. You couldnt of asked for a better ambassador for our franchise.

Nothing like a good po boy; especially a shrimp one. Spending some time in south MS, I used to stay eating them. 

Food trucks taking over. Had chicken and waffles from one the other day.
