Why you don't pay a zone corner top corner money

i knew a dude who bought three robert griffin jerseys so he could have the home, away, and alternate colors

That I can understand since he was lighting it up early. Maybe he can exchange them for some Norman ones.

I agree somewhat but there is value to what Josh brings. He is eliminating a third of the field. That is a big deal in the NFL.

Redskins problem is they aren't giving any safety help to the other side.

Norman can cover Brown all he wants

Pittsburgh is just going to attack Breeland. Breeland has been burned by everybody, not just Brown

If you were the Jets and Odell Beckham was roasting your #2 corner repeatedly, would you still keep Darrelle Revis on their second receiver on the theory that "he's taking away that part of the field"?

Sorry, but that strategy makes no sense.

It's totally why he didn't get paid by Carolina. The Steelers have one of the best OCs outside of the Pats as well.  Todd Haley probably will get a head coaching gig next year.

Then why don't they?

What's the point of letting Antonio Brown run wild while Josh Norman is covering someone less dangerous?

Saying they'd just throw at Breeland anyway doesn't make it make any more sense.

That's on the d coordinator then.

It's not like they dont run some man too.  That just means they were getting outcoached and outschemed.  Look what was across from Norman the last two years, and yet, how many of them looked like Breland and how often did #1 receivers go off on him (or our #2 corner).  My point remains, Norman deserved his money and was doing his job.  Even if they were playing man and had Norman shadow Brown everywhere, Breland would still get picked on regardless of who he was covering.

I'm really growing tired of the habit around here of putting Norman down to make ourselves feel better about the situation.  He deserved a significant raise.  He earned it.  And I believe having a guy like him out there Thursday night would've went a long way towards shutting down Denver's dirty play.  Trying to make up excuses to defend us letting him walk doesn't change that he deserved to get paid or that he's a really good player.

Did this thread actually put Norman down, or did it question how he was being used?

Lol, nice changeup.  The title designates him as a "zone corner," implying he can't or doesn't play man, and thus didnt deserve what he got paid.  I'd say that is putting him down, along with the two other Norman threads made tonight blaming him for a fight with teammates.  People are trying to make themselves feel better about it like we came out on the better end of the deal by letting him walk and Washington screwed the pooch by signing him.
