Shula Speaks

I don't hate Shula, just wish he was more aggressive when it comes to playing with a lead. See Seattle in playoffs and only put the ball in the hands of your MVP 6 times in second half. See Thursday, nice 10 point lead and not being aggressive like the first half, only putting up 3 points.

People bash on us for saying Shula isn't that great, but really you should be bashed for thinking Shula is one of the best OC's in the league. Cam made Davidson look good too you know.

No he didn't lol. Davidson was a John Fox hire and was fired after the 2010 season or let go along with Fox.

I didn't say he was the greatest OC either. I just said our offense led the league in scoring  last year.

Denver got back in the game on pass plays. Their pass rush eventually wore us down (we were ove matched anyway). It could easily be argued if the tipped interception didn't happen near Denver's goal line this game wouldn't have been close.

I dont think not being aggressive enough with play calling was our problem in the 2nd half.  I suggest you go back and look

I'm sorry I mean Chudzinski was with us in 2011. Regardless we had a good offense that year and Chud isn't good.

You guys obviously don't know football. Shula's issue has always been lack of personnel. This year, we finally have the roster that he needs to continue to get the plays in late, have everyone run 18 yard routes, and get our QB murdered. Sure, he'll mix it up by sending in Tolbert to get stonewalled against a 9-man front on a 3rd and 1; but, gone are the days of worrying about in-game adjustments, quick plays to help your linemen out against an elite defense/defensive coordinator, or anything remotely creative aside from one Ted Ginn reverse a game. Relax, everyone, we are in good hands.

Just curious how do you feel about the defensive play calling against Denver. Those big runs they had for TD's is that personel problem or mcdermotts fault?

Shula hate has more to do with desire for free pie. Most of the things said about him are filled with more made up lies, witty remarks attempting to be funny all in the name of some pie vs post with substance critiquing his actual performance.

I like Gettleman but the opposite happens with him. People over hype his greatness and the funnier ways in which they imply it earns pie.

This is all cool, until it reaches the brainwashing stage where people actually believe these things.

hi mike thx for weighing in

I have looked.  You can be as aggressive as you want with play calling, but if you dont execute, then you wont score a lot of points.

and if you leave Remmers on an island like he did in SB50, the pass rush gets there too easily.

If I can tell what the play is at home before the snap, I'm certain Denver knew exactly where it was going as well.

Well before, your argument was that he wasnt aggressive enough.  Now he is too predictable.  Which is it? You'll probably say both because blaming Shula seems to be the easy way out.

Well it's true isn't it? Why did we nearly blow so many huge leads last year? And Week 1 already blew a 10 point lead with getting ball first at half? Because he isn't aggressive and you know the play will go something like hb draw, read option or so on. Sure the defense gave up points, but if we just kept scoring, even if it is fg's we would win. Instead we settle for so many 3 and outs.
