How concerned are you about the defense?

Slightly more than a little. The thing I worry about most is the lack of a consistent pass rush. Although, we still had a pretty damn good defense last year with a subpar pass rush. At the moment, I'm chalking Denver up to just a bad day.

Based on the tape we had of Siemiens, I think they were surprised when he didn't kneel down every play.

Only allowing 21 points is a bit misleading. We didn't force them to settle for a single FG attempt and we were saved by multiple Broncos turnovers when they were in scoring position. We easily could have allowed far more than 21 points. No way to sugarcoat it, the D had a pretty poor showing. 

The Broncos were 18th in points scored, 22nd in ypg, 26th in passing yds, and 5th in rushing yards last year and probably would have been worse if Peyton had stayed healthy. Siemian is a push and that OL improvement makes them better. 

Regarding TOs, the defense produced those so you have to give them credit - no butt-fumble fluke TOs going on. Agree 100% that there is plenty of room for improvement but when the team's M.O. is to get turnovers and they produce three of them off of good plays it can't be discounted.

The Broncos lost a lot of pieces over the offseason. They aren't nearly the team they were last year but we sure made them look like it.

I think tackling was the biggest reason we looked bad.  Players were in the right spot and failed to execute, alot of their big run plays were caused by missed tackles, clean that up and we're back in shape

After seeing the rest of the NFL, i'm not concerned at all, assuming the coaching staff begins making the correct personnel decisions regarding the defensive line.

Their run game made everything happen, the front 7 & secondary needs more time to Gel. Soliai, Butler, & Bradberry will become key pieces as we get midway into the season.

On the road against a brand new offense with a new qb so there is no tape on either. There's areas to improve but no where to be concerned about yet.

Apparently people forget how Luke frigging McCown made our top ranked defense look at the beginning of last year. It's the first game of the year, against a QB who we have zero tape on. The sky ain't falling yet.

I THOUGHT OUR DEFENSE COULDN'T GET WORSE THEN 2014 BUT THIS LOOKS EXACTLY LIKE IT . im not worried about us stoping the run , its stopping the quick passes that is hurting our defense. hopefully bradberry can step it up

Agree 100%, I was about to write this.  Glad I read the thread first, because you've said it better than I could.
