Anyone else doesn't fully trust Gano?

I'm late to the party. But every time Gano's number is called, I feel a sense of complete indifference, which in the case of special teams is a good thing. I expect him to make it, much like he did on the first kick before the time out. If we had one more time out in order to run one more play, I would've like that even more, but no kicker in the NFL is automatic from beyond 50. Hell, Blair Walsh missed 2 FG's and an extra point this week after being one of the most reliable kicker's in the NFL.

All Noles kickers are chokers, and I'm an FSU fan. I didn't trust him Thursday on that kick, i knew he'd miss it, he chokes in pressure situations.

As an FSU fan, and relatively new poster here, I assume you haven't been following the Panthers for that long. As a person who has been on this roller coaster for around 16 years (since I was old enough to know what exactly was going on in football), I've come to expect the worst and hope for the best in times of tight situations and high expectations.

That said, he made the first kick, missed the second due to a poor snap. As was said by the players, Gano will win far more games for you than he will lose.

21 years bro. Colts game last year. Ask Miami fans about wide right with FSU. Gano, Hopkins, and Aguayo all choked in pressure situations. About the only one who didn't was Janikowski.

With that said, there's 15 games left. I do not like having to depend on my kicker to win a game.

What is the league average for kicks beyond 50 yds? I will wait for your response

I like Gano, and do not blame him for the loss, but FWIW, he was 2-4 for 50+ yard attempts last season. Only 6 teams were worse. He made an overall 83.3% of his kicks. which ties him for 19th in the league. Not impressive numbers.

He hit the kick. He just didn't hit it twice in a row.  50 yarders ain't gimmies.

The defense choked more than Gano did

On par with Jon "He needs a statue" Kasay in his Super Bowl season.
