Thoughts on Tolbert?

The only reason Gettleman re-signed Tolbert is because of his place in the locker room. His playing days are over but he's a big part of our locker room chemistry.

Would have rather seen Fozzy get those touches Tolbert got.  Fozzy ran hard last night and brought a good change of pace to the game.  We need more of that.

I like Tolbert but he has no reason to be on this team, would like to see CAP activated.

He should've been cut last year and we need a FB that can at least block decently.

Might want to give the guy a game or two more to make sure we didn't put him out to pasture too quickly.

Whole team was playing at about 75% of capability last night. Can't start just dragging players off behind the barn after the first game.

30 yr old running backs.....I have said it for years.

and Tolbert getting stopped in his tracks IMO started last year.  That was the first season I legitimately saw people be able to knock him backwards.  Happened a couple times because despite being so big...he moves slow.

I don't care about the false FB label.  We use him as a RB.  His upside IMO is nowhere near as good "Carolina" paints it.

Did you see what a REAL FB can do in Denvers offense? He was creating massive holes for CJA and they gashed us all game. I said 2 years ago it was time to go get us a real FB. Tolbert provides absolutely nothing anymore.

Cap has no business being deactivated over tolbert or even fozzy.. just ron being too loyal once again.

Stewart is going to be known as one of the hardest hitters in the league by year's end. That guy was incredible (and dirty)...the hit that knocked Tolbert back would have knocked back every RB and FB in the league. If the line gets push and he is used appropriately then he's effective. The play that was 3rd-1 when Cam tried to bootleg to the left comes to mind as a perfect play where we should have gotten a push and run Tolbert off of Turner. Instead we try to use a WR to block a DE and their LB gets to Cam as he's running sideways.

Tolbert got laid out last year in ways not seen before too.  Stopped in his tracks.
