Bigger concern - pass rush or run defense?

pass rush.  our DE depth is horrible.  Chuck and Ealy and our DTs should tighten up on the run.

Shaq was held by number 77 on that fb TD... We gotta get off blocks and wrap up.. 24 will get better.. 94 got pancaked on a big run to smh..

Run D. Our pass rush has never been too amazing anyway. If it weren't for our LBs it'd be even worse. Our DEs are average and our DTs can't be expected to do everything.

Zone run schemes are hard to block against. Two TD's the Broncos scored were a result of players being out of position; the screen pass for a TD was executed to perfection considering we blitzed a safety and they took advantage of the vacuum created by the blitz, the FB rumble for a TD was the result of everyone getting bottled up trying to stuff the middle and no one sealing off the front side. 

Ticky tack plays led to the Broncos winning. I think the goal line stand was far more indicative of what to expect as zone running schemes between the 20's are notoriously difficult to stop.

Run Defense isn't a concern imo -- we have (minus Allen and Harper to some extent) the same personnel that was so tough against the run a year ago in place. The interior rush is deep and very talented and we know how good the LB's are. I think that Denver's improved offensive line and scheme played to their advantage more than ours last night. Perhaps the altitude slowed us down at the point of attack? Either way, I don't have any less faith in our ability to stop the run going forward. I'd like to see the pass rush improve.

I also want to see a mix up of the DE depth chart. Delaire is nothing more than an obvious passing down guy so Ealy or Chuck can move in to DT to play opposite of KK.

It's always like that man, every offseason you call out the weaknesses you see in the team and get called a "troll" a "dumb ass" and everything else they can think of. Then those same people act like the ship is sinking after one game and they see all the flaws played out.

Delaire should honestly just be cut. Yeah he had that great 2 sack game in his debut against the Bucs and flashed a bit against the Seahawks in the next game but he has literally done nothing since then. He registered a single pressure from what I remember. In the 9 games he's played in including the playoffs and last night since the Seattle game he has gotten a whopping 4 tackles and a half sack. Total. That's awful.

Like the kicker situation, you should only cut someone if the replacement is better.  There is literally only one available DE who is better.  A LOT better.

Yes, you are correct. Greg Hardy is literally the only DE in the entire world that is available and better than Delaire.

there was zero tape on that offense....so I won't say run D.  Give our guys tape on any team and IMO our front can sniff out runs better.

I think DB in general in a concern.  Run and pass.   DBs (talking safties too) all played horrible basic football vs the run.  I think Bradberry will be abused until late in the year (fine with him because that happens with rookies).  

Worley shouldn't even see the field on special teams.  Put him on the shelf and develop him.

Weeks 2-3:. Stopping the run 

weeks 4-6:. Pass rush

we need to be able to stop the run against San Fran and Minnesota more so than we need a pass rush  

with that said, we dang sure better find a pass rush when we go into those three straight divisional games
