So about that intentional grounding voiding the only blow to the head penalty called on the donkeys

Lots going on here, but the fact that a blow to the head can be offset by intentional grounding doesn't feel like the best thing for player safety

 

I said this during the game thread but when you have two penalties, one from each side, I think the most egregious should be enforced.

Especially considering the seriousness of the outcome were a concussion to be had from such a blow.  But of course the NFL must not really care enough about player safety if their own refs don't enforce the rules.

Even more so after the offensive penalty was already committed, and the headshot was essentially after the play.

Coaches should be allowed to challenge blow to the head if they see something convincing, or their booth sees anything. Lose a timeout and challenge if you're wrong.

After watching ESPN and seeing some articles already come out, I expect the NFL will have to answer to this. There could be a suspension involved here with the targeting. However, expect Newton to be looked over by league officials.

I agree but why do I feel like the Panthers will be fuged by this more than they benefit from it if it's installed.
