Josh Norman would have made a huge difference

I am not saying the sky is falling or woe is us but I just saw a rookie pick apart our secondary.. Norman would have been able to handle his biz against Thomas.. I think this might be one of the few miss steps by Gman..

Now look, I think we still run the south and make the playoffs but our defense looked mediocre AT BEST against Simeon. I just can't even right now.. that kick hurt so bad

Yup, I think this may be the season the love affair with Gettleman may change a bit.  He's fantastic at drafting but he cannot handle players.  The Norman thing was stupid, because we should have kept him here for franchise tag at least one year to make a run.   The Steve Smith thing in the past and now Short not getting his contract done (despite us having a lot of cap to do it).  I think he's a bit full of himself.   Also keeping Remmers around (but not as big of an issue as before).

A watch would have made a big difference too, becuase SIX YEARS into the league, he still cannot handle clock management to save his life.

He really would have stuffed that run for sure.

Well he was a hell of a lot better at tackling than Boston. Think he racked up 5 missed tackles tonight, including one where Luke literally had the guy wrapped up and Boston ran in and bounced off.

What would Norman have done that Bradberry didn't do tonight?

He wouldn't have given up all those easy passes for first downs Bradberry gave up.  Plus, we could have left him on an island.  Norman shut down most of the guys he went up against last year, including Demaryius Thomas in the Superbowl.

We tried to blitz him the entire game and manned up. The blitzes never worked. A lot of their plays were from screens and short routes away from the blitz and the fuger being able to run since everyone is playing Man and the blitzers are all in the backfield tripping over each other. As someone mentioned above, the run defense was horrendous. Legit Luke was the only one who could shed a block and even then it'd be like 6-7 yards down the field for the tackle.
