I've been very forgiving of Gano but he has reached his threshold of chokes.  I don't think that you can just sign anyone off the street and expect an instant upgrade though.  We may be stuck with him for the rest of this season.

no Gano is just an awful kicker. The bears signed Connor Barth the other day. While Connor isn't going to be booming touchbacks on the regular, he is money from 50 and in, he would have fuging made that kick last night because he's not a choker from Wide left -U. Get used to it though because Gano somehow got a fat contract cause we thought getting a touchback on every kick off was important, now he just hurts our starting field position. Dont be surprised to see Gano miss another clutch kick at some point this season.

The 80 yard punt was great but he also put two into the end zone which is bad. Was it terrible? No, but if you're going to give up a 4th for a punter then he shouldn't be putting easy ones into the end zone.

Gano would've missed that kick if it was an extra point. It was wide left the moment it left his foot.

Kickers miss from 50+ like a third of the time. Unless your name is Vinatieri you are going to miss from 50+ sometimes. It's a numbers game.

Checks stats.

 

Barth is 63% from 50+ and 75% from 40-49 for his career. Pretty average for the NFL actually.

Hate to say it, but you're right. If it was a 50 harder at home, I think he makes that kick most of the time though.
