Brandon's Positively Pointless Power Rankings Week 233

1. Giants

The Giants wideouts were thought to be an issue coming into the season but have now proven to be better than anyone imagined. While there are some concerns about Brandon Jacobs's lack of production, and the redzone offense, but the Giants are getting it done when ti counts.

2. Ravens

The Ravens may not be as strong defensively as they had been in the past, but they are doing what it takes to win. If the Ravens can take advantage of a somewhat forgiving schedule in the first half of the season they may find themselves at the top of the division at season's end.

3. Falcons

Matt Ryan is showing no signs of a sophomore slump, playing at a very high level so far this season. The addition of Tony Gonzalez has been huge, giving him a big target who is open on nearly every play. The defense wasn't quite as strong as last week, but is still overachieving a bit.

4. Saints

The addition of a running game to the Saints' offense has turned them from a one-sided team into something dynamic and much more difficult to slow down. While the defense may not be terribly good, it may not matter with the scoring potential New Orleans has.

5. Colts

It may not be pretty but the Colts are winning games, but more importantly Peyton Manning is seeming more like himself. Unfortunately all is not well though, because the defense couldn't find the answer to stopping the Dolphins' run game.

6. Steelers

Two missed field goals from a quality kicker can hurt. But more importantly, the Steelers need to find an answer for the running game, or their attempt at a repeat may be ended prematurely. The defense is still up to the task, but the offense needs to catch up.

7. Jets

Buddy Ryan has completely changed the way the Jets play football, which was a big reason to why they were finally able to beat the Patriots at home. The offense has some work to do, but as long as the defense can play at a high level there may not be much need.

8. 49ers

Mike Singletary has to be ecstatic with the way San Francisco has turned things around since last year. The defense is playing at a high level, Shaun Hill is playing mistake free football and the running game is outstanding. The question on everyone's mind is, how long will they last at this level?

9. Vikings

The Vikings are winning games now against weak teams, but the schedule leading into their Week 9 bye is not going to be a simple matter. The most surprising thing about Minnesota's season so far is the fact that Favre has yet to throw an interception.

10. Bears

Jay Cutler was under a lot of scrutiny after a terrible first game, but he bounced back against the Steelers, which is no easy task. The loss of Urlacher on defense may not be as bad as first thought. Forte needs to pick things up though, he is only managing 2.2ypc so far this year.

11. Eagles

The loss of McNabb for a few games was tough for the Eagles' defense against the Saints, but the schedule gets much easier from here. The defense looked rather ordinary after a great effort opening weekend.

12. Chargers

Defense is becoming a major issue for the Chargers, especially with the loss of Merriman, Phillips and Williams. The lack of a consistent running game hurts as well, as Sproles isn't up to the task of being an every down runner. Winning is back on Rivers' shoulders again like last year.

13. Cowboys

If a team puts up over 250 yards rushing, they generally win, but somehow the Cowboys found the way around that and his name is Tony Romo. In big games he doesn't disappear, he implodes and was the big reason as to why the Cowboys ended up losing.

14. Cardinals

Warner bounced back from a horrible week one into a record-setting performance against the wounded Jaguars. He threw a record 92.3% completion percentage, topping previous record holder Vinny Testaverde. The Cardinals have to be pleased with the improvement in their run game so far.

15. Patriots

The Patriots are in trouble, and putting far too much pressure on Tom Brady to win games. He has already thrown 100 times so far in two games, which doesn't point towards success. The defense is coping with the loss of Jerod Meyo, but any further injuries could cripple them.

16. Texans

After a terrible offensive performance in week one they blew away the Titans' defense putting up 420 yards and scoring 34 points. While the defense isn't strong by any means, it should be good enough to get them through a relatively schedule, and possibly the team's first winning record.

17. Bengals

18. Packers

19. Broncos

20. Bills

21. Titans

22. Dolphins

23. Panthers

24. Seahawks

25. Redskins

26. Jaguars

27. Buccaneers

28. Raiders

29. Chiefs

30. Browns

31. Rams

32. Lions
