Referee Assignments

Anybody know when they come out and where we can look? Never really cared but if it's Clete Blakemen then I can probably guarantee a loss. Hate being "that guy", but 6-0 when he refs bronco games, grew up in Nebraska (which is all bronco fans), and every time he refs Pats games he screws them over (which I actually enjoy). Not to mention the NFL giving the Super Bowl replay assistant job to that dude who's wife and family are hardcore Bronco fans.

Again, sounds stupid, but this dude even called stupid stuff in our preseason game this year. (Nor does it sound stupid when you re-watch the Superbowl)

Go here then look for Gene Steratore crew. They are who  is listed as officials for Thursday night.

Here is his stats. If you can figure it out. I suck at math and statistics.

Anyone who blames the Super Bowl loss on Clete Blakeman is a fuging conspiracy theorist and should have their Panthers fandom revoked.

Why are you watching football if you think its rigged? Jesus, seriously. By your logic, if we ever do win, its just because the league decided it was the Panthers time to win the Lombardi. We got our asses beat, plain and simple. And the Cotchery catch hits the damn ground and he has no control over it. Catch the damn ball cleanly, don't leave it up to replay. Worst call in league history, my ass. Try the Fail Mary. Tired of hearing whining about a damn non-catch.

We got beat by a team that was better than us on that Sunday because we played like dogshit. It's time to move on.

The absolute annihilation of the Denver Broncos that is going to happen in just over 48 hours will be a nice way to drive out old demons and start the Super Bowl 51 run, where we will not leave a game in the hands of refs because we will be the best team on the field and will actually play like it this time.

Why do people watch wrestling when they know its fake. "Entertainment" just like all sports and shows.

Fine, watching football is fine- if its purely for entertainment purposes. Rooting for a team? Why? Especially one that hasn't won anything? Why put yourself through that if you think the whole thing is scripted?

I feel what you saying but you got to understand the system to truly see the purpose behind everything. To much info to talk about on the huddle. I let people enjoy there beliefs.

Because it wasnt "scripted" until the biggest game of the year.  They let the players on the field decide up until that point.  Do you recall anyone blaming the refs for our loss to the Falcons?  Hell no...  we poo the bed and lost it ourselves.

But, if you can watch that superbowl and feel like it was a fairly officiated game, then you sir, need to revoke your fandom.

I am always going to pull for and love my panthers, but i'd be lying if I said i wasn't approaching this season much more jaded than ever before.  I want to believe we will be allowed to decide our outcomes on the field, but i know what has happened in the past (see niners 2013 playoff, 2016 superbowl).  It has put a bit of a dampening on my usual child like giddiness for the upcoming season, but i still want to believe and will believe until it's no longer possible.

    • Thanks Ice and Juan.  I appreciate people who produce and bring content to the table.   Without further ado, my reactions, and I will try to be "laconic" (word of the day): 8- Edge/LB Jalon Walker:  A great football player.  He must be used properly.  Does not eliminate the need for an edge--and we do not draft an edge here. 57- DT T.J. Sanders:  I really liked him at SC--a beast. A DE.  I am not sure how we will rotate in at NT--and I see NT as our biggest DL need IF we play Wharton at DE. 74- WR Jack Bech:  Love this guy.  a Dawg.  Eric Decker II. 111- S Billy Bowman Jr.  Good value here, but I was hoping for a S earlier.  I want one of the top 2 because if both S have position versatility, and we have Walker and DL with position versatility, we'd be hard to play. 114- CB Dorian Strong:  Fine. A depth piece behind Horn and Jackson (he he). However, I think CB is a bigger need than people are projecting. 140- LB Demetrius Knight Jr.:  Another Gamecock--love him.  Morgan will love him.  A dawg.  A steal here. 146- G Caleb Rogers:  Don't we have enough guards?  Moton is in his final year and we don't draft a T? 163- RB Jarquez Hunter:  Not sure I have ever heard of him--probably suing his parents for naming him Jarquez--but the name does mean "Strong and valiant" if spelled correctly.  Do his friends call him Jar Jar?  I would. 230- S Maxen Hook  The great grand son of Peter Pan's nemesis.  He has both hands--for now, but that is because Toledo did not play the Florida Gators.
    • Moose Muhammed had suspect hands early in his career and seemed to improve--but my experience is this--some QBs throw a ball that some WRs struggle to catch vs. others.  A tighter spin, more velocity, timing in route--I can't put my finger on it specifically, but in college we had 5 or so qbs and one or two were harder to catch than the others.  In fact, I climbed the depth chart because I could catch the starter (threw it hard) better than others-but the second team QB gave me fits.  Maybe that has something to do with it?
