0-3 Giants won Super Bowl, Dolphins started 0-2 last year made Playoffs

Though it sucks that all ready in Week 3 we have a "must win", our schedule softens up a bit in the middle:

Redskins

@ Bucs

Bills

Then...

@ Cardinals

@ Saints

Falcons

Dolphins

@ Jets

Bucs

are all "winnable"

I'm not in panic mode...I can see us turning it around here and picking up a couple of wins. if we can get to 3-3 then anything's possible... In any sport, it's dumb to go nuts if your team has a great start OR terrible start. Like my Blue Jays looked like playoff contenders 1/4 the way through the season, lead the AL East all most of all April and May. Then they crumbled in June and never looked back. Just like my Jays the Saints will come down to Earth...I heard some talking head on TV say "Are the Saints the NFC's best?"...which is ridiculous...if anyone Atlanta should be mentioned, but the New Orleans Saints Post-Katrina love fest will never end...

All I'm saying is even at 0-2 we are very capable of having a winning season....

Now if Jakey Big Mistakey laid out flat for the 3rd straight game, then I would be will all those lunatics saying the seasons "over"...

Our schedule is front-loaded. No one will remember an 0-3 start if we go into December at 8-4 or 7-5. We have the talent, the schedule will more than make that possible, and the Panthers under Fox traditionally get strong in late November/early December. Honestly, I'm looking forward to playing NE in Foxboro, they look pretty vulnerable this year. The only game that looks hard in December is the Giants, and we did ok there last year.

The reason only 13whatever% of the teams that go 0-2 make the playoffs is because most of the time 0-2 is what you expect from a bad team. The Panthers are not a bad team.

:iagree: actually. We got a good enough team to turn this around and make it to the playoffs. What other teams did don't really matter because anything can happen after Week 2 in the NFL. Right now though, I can be mad at the team if I want though.

I dont know where people see any kind of "easy" stretch in our schedule at any time this season?? Sadly, while I am still trying to be optimistic, my gut is telling me there is no playoffs in this teams future and probably a less than .500 season. The defenes is just not good enough. It has been getting shredded consistenly since the middle of last season right through the Atlanta game. Even watching them try to blitz which was misarably unsuccessful takes away that being a possble solution to getting more QB pressure. I just dont see how this defense turns it around  Maybe its possible and that why I still remain hopefull because I am a Panther fan. It is going to take our offense scoring at least 30pts a game for the Panthers to even sniff he playoffs.

    • Team is dangerous right now, all four lines are contributing and the speed at which the guys play at is tremendous.
    • And every nfl player wannabe tries to up their draft position through things like the combine and theyre all basically lying though those drills theyve practiced hundreds of times that have little bearing on if theyre a good football player. The pro days are even worse. All you have to do is dupe 1 team. Is it right? No. But until teams put more emphasis on college tape vs. What they did in shorts with no defense it'll happen every year. I doubt there is a single player that wouldn't try anything to up their draft prospects.  Young had years of tape and that shouldve been what the decision was based on. Not a scale and throwing in shorts.  ( btw I think the combine and pro days are 90% a waste of time) Young has it financially made already. It's up to him if he wants to be a good football player too. I think the benching was the best thing that could've happened to him. It remains to be seen if it was enough
    • This.  Honest introspection on his behalf would have seen that size and strength were his biggest weaknesses. He looks no different. With the programs in the NFL, he could have come back to camp 10 lbs of muscle heavier. Easily. If had done so, it would have been reported on. It would have been the hottest story…. But we never saw anything of the sort, so it probably never happened.  He showed improvement this last game, likely from Andy’s tutelage. He has to show something VERY special to close the season out to change my thinking on him… like 4 game winning streak with a clutch 4th quarter comeback. Then maybe.
