I don't know what it is with some of you guys and wanting to cut Norris. He has the ability to be a solid backup, or at least a placeholder once developed.

This is what a Buffalo TV station said about Lavar on Aug 8:

" Day 8 MVP: DE Lavar Edwards
- Though he’s had his struggles at training camp this year, Lavar Edwards was playing like a man possessed on Monday. He dominated his one-on-one reps versus the offensive line, and then continued that success into team drills by collecting two sacks. It will be an uphill climb to make the roster with the amount of solid players at the position as it is, but Edwards isn’t sitting idly by and just letting it happen. "

Funny, but we seem to give the drafted DEs more time to develop than we do the undrafted rookies--but I agree--Delaire is not getting better and sucks vs. the run.   I wonder if we are looking for another DE today....

      Respectfully, I completely disagree. Last year we were:  32nd in Sacks. 32nd in Turnovers.  32nd in Rushing TDs allowed  29th in Scoring.  We were absolutely atrocious on defense last year and that was with a full stable of weapons in Derek Brown, Frankie Luvu and Brian Burns that played all 17 games.  Using yards per game as a metric to guage our success lacks the context that because our offense was so inept teams were not driving the length of the field, they were starting at their 40-50 yard line.  This year, our Defense ranks:  31st in Sacks. Tied for 19th in Turnovers  31st in Rushing TDs allowed 32nd in Scoring  His defense fails to get pressure, fails to turn the ball over and fails to stop the run. Three things you absolutely have to do to be successful in the NFL.  Denver meanwhile has not missed a beat without him.  If another team wants to hire him as a HC and the Panthers get two 3rds for it I'll wish him the best and pack his bags myself.
